Sometimes it's difficult to bite your tongue and keep going. And sometimes it feels so good to just let it fly.

The last day I performed at the Texas Renaissance Festival, someone taped one of my shows. I was just starting into the Indian Basket, when a kid in the front row started mouthing at me.

I looked at him and said, "I've worked here for 26 years, and I've never done what I'm about to do. Today, it's not a problem. What are they going to do ... fire me?....SHUT UP!!!!"

The audience laughed and roared. And the kid shut up. And I got a lot of money in my hat that show.

Best of all, I've got it on tape!

It felt soooooo good!

I don't suppose you could post that on YouTube?

:)

Nope. I refuse to put anything on YouTube.

Fair enough... how about livevideo?
"There's no time to lose," I heard her say.
"Catch your dreams before they slip away."
"Dying all the time, lose your dreams and you could lose your mind.
Ain't life unkind?"

I don't know where the quote came from, but my kids use it all the time!

After "Night at the "M&%#$m" came out, I stopped vanishing silks with a TT. I got busted by two kids in a week. Luckily, there are about 999 other effects one can do with such a device. OK, so perhaps I'm being a bit conservative in my count.

I have to make an apology. I made a nasty comment about the TT and silk based on the fact that I'd seen at least a half a dozen crappy performers making little bits of cloth vanish badly. I was told it was actually a well received effect if done properly.

Well, I was at Disney World last week (don't ask!) and finally got to Magic Masters. The demonstrator there did the TT and silk bit and although I _knew_ what he was doing, I couldn't actually _see_ what he did. And his presentation was actually fun to watch.

(Incidently, going OT a little, yes the prices there are quite insane, but you have to figure they have the tourist trade and they have to make that Disney rent!)
