I was going through some of my late granddad's magic stuff today. I found some jumbo cards, but no instructions. I'll tell you what I have and perhaps someone can enlighten me as to what I have, or can help me create an effect.
I have one jumbo card sized manilla envelope with a large transparent window, three 7-diamonds, one double face 7-diamonds/ace-clubs, one ace-clubs with a back to match the manilla envelope. I will put on my thinking cap, but would also like to here what others come up with. Thanks very much. Matt |

Matt, I don't remember what it's called but Dan Harlan had an effect at his lecture that sounds similar. Check out his web site if he has one.

I got that trick in a magic set back in the 70's. Take 3 sevens and an ace out of the envelope. The envelope now looks empty. Place the envelope face down on the table. The ace disappears and you show 4 sevens. Pull the ace out of the envelope. I have left out the details but you should be able to figure them out.

Randy,
Thanks. Thats kind of what I was thinking of, but it didn't make much sense to me where the other 7 comes from. I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to count the four sevens as three. Thanks again. Now to try to make this into something. Matt |

Matt:
The effect is called THE FLYING ACE and it was put out by Reiss Magic in the mid-seventies. I have a copy of the instructions and would be happy to Xerox them for you. Send me a private message with your address, if you are interested. -Marty |

Hey Matt,
Like the others I bought this trick in the 70s and never used it. Here it is 30 years later and I busted it out and started using it with Dan Harlans routine. It's pretty cool and you can find it on his new video Packs Small Plays Big. Good Luck Shawn |
