Jim
Thank you for bringing this up. Uri Geller has been an inspiration for me most of my life. As a child of the 1960’s and 1970’s, I looked forward to his appearances on television in the United States, and yes, I raided the kitchen for silverware and found every key and watch I could find to bring before the TV, hoping to experience for myself what those in the studio felt and saw. Sometimes I did, a watch would start to tic, a spoon or a key would be found to be bent, and I was in awe. It was about time that I told him as much. Tony |

Then why all the DVD's on Metal Bending? Seems like they are riding the PSI wave all the way to the bank.

Bad form!
DJM says: When I was a kid and watched him on TV, my family was always wondering who was stupid enough to hold watches for Geller to stop and put things on the TV for him to bend... I'll let them know the answer. I guess the same people that Banachek and Osterlind ask to do it...Right?

No, you are not wrong....they claim to be fakers, while riding the wave that they did not create.

Entertainers can laugh all the way to the bank with a clear conscience, I have never understood how the others do. What I find astonishing on this board is how many feel that their view is the view held by all and what they define as being 'A' is 'A' only because they say it is. EDIT: Slim you call it a wave I call it a con. And everyone that does mental bending and clearly states it is to a illusion is not riding that con, but rather showing the 'con' to be what it is...and that is not a wave...more like a puddle pretending to be a wave. As my own opinion Geller Should be ashamed of himself, or seek help, or prove us all wrong. Sadly I see none of these becoming a reality.
I do look forward to the day when you post something constructive.

Sorry but you have missed the point.
Without Geller would all of the others have thought up metal bending on their own? Right!

That is a completely void statement, that like saying if Joe blogs hadn't invented the wheel, we wouldn't have it.
How on earth do you back up a statement like that. And you still don't see the difference between a con artist and a Entertainers apparently.
I do look forward to the day when you post something constructive.

The problem is that Geller didn't invent anything, he just made it popular... spoon bending had been long before Geller even thought of becoming a model.
So maybe we should thank the original person who actually invented this, whoever that is. After all, Geller is riding upon his wave. |

At least we eventually had the sense to stop wearing leisure suits. Why demonize Uri Geller? He did not create the attraction. He was just on the bill. And the powers that be couldn’t have asked for a better side show at the time. You may not have pressed a watch against the television … but you’re still sitting too close to the picture tube. Slim it is actually up to you to show that geller was the originator as you are making the claim.
But I will post some of the other examples of metal bending claims pre geller shortly.
I do look forward to the day when you post something constructive.
