My Biro/Ramsay's were waiting for me when I got back in town yesterday and I'll just say "DITTO" to what everyone else has to say about Jake's work! VERY nice indeed! Thanks Jake,

Spun out 12 more sets Saturday night and put them back on the site if anyone still wants a set. This is it for the year.
Happy Holidays to all. Jake

12 sets on Saturday night? Sheesh! I know nothing about metalwork (high school shop was a total loss for me) but that's probably amazing!!

Chopped Ramsay Cups. NOT.
Ramsay was a sleight-of-hand man--period.

I'm looking forward to the mailman delivering me a set of the Biro/Ramsay Cups. I thought I'd missed out on them. Glad you spun more Jake.

NO CHOPPED PETE! Left them just the way they are. I was going to make a set for Bob, and with the tooling it's not feasible and that wasn't your design to begin with.

You'll love em Mitch, I know I do mine! Once I get Pete's manuscript on the 2 cup routine they will have to start working for that prestigious spot they have on my display shelf!
It's always a great day when a RNT2 package arrives! I'm waiting on something new from Jake hopefully this week! |

I bought a set from Jake earlier this year. Among the most beautifully spun aluminum cups I've ever come across.

In my earlier post just above I said it was not Pete's design, I was not referring to the cup design, but as to the cup(s) being chopped. Since I couldn't modify the tooling without making radical changes to the cups interior, I left well enough alone as it dawned on me it was not my place to change the design or function of the cup.
Pete, thank you again for letting us spin these. Jake

I have a set of the Ramsey cups (thanks Jake) and I am hoping to get Mr Biro's book on the Ramsey routine after Xmas.
As a Scot I cannot wait to give this routine some practice.

In March, 2008, I received a donation to the Cups and Balls Museum of a set of unpainted ice cream tubs that John Ramsay had used as practice cups. They were furnished by Andrew Galloway, whom I had briefly met at the Magic Circle Centenary in 2005. They have a set of balls, etc.
If you have access to the Museum seardh "performers" for John Ramsay.

Pete Biro's book on this method is indeed an EXCELLENT resource. It's a permanent part of my library.
