Greetings.
I am wondering what designs for the Lota bowl there are that make is look less like a lota bowl. I have seen the bucket, but it still looks like a magic bucket to me (perhaps I am just used to the type of metal). Thanks for any leads. RevJohn |

The first thing I would do with the Beach Bucket Lota is to paint the outside (or cover it with a laminated picture) to make it look more like a kid's beach bucket. After all, who else brings a bucket to the beach? It needs some water, sand, sailboats, shells and stuff like that on it. I would also paint the inside with great care not to plug up any important ports. Otherwise, don't try to pass it off as a kid's sand bucket for the beach, but it's too nice for a janitor's bucket from the closet unless you want to ding it up and drip paint on it.
The other lotas all look like antique spittoons. The only hope you have for anything different is making your own or getting a potter to make you one. Fortunately, there are Dollar Store solutions- flower vases, canisters, watering cans, bottles ... all made out of plastic and easy to work with. In my Dollar Store article on the Do It Yourself (DIY) Milk Pitcher (on my site), I include instructions for making a Dollah Lota from a glass ivy bowl vase, but the concept is the same and it's even easier if you have all plastic parts.

I have a ceramic Lota that I bought from Stevens' Magic many years ago. It looks more like a small vase you might have in your home than a magic prop.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

There is someone, and I may be able to find out who, that makes clay ones that are absolutely GOREGOUS. Now, they are pricey AND heavy but REALLY beautiful.

Can't recommend enough this pot by Martin! I have it set with my antiquties and there are a few pots at the 5,000 year old mark...this sits next to them...when talking about them, picking up martin's pot (which fits right in at a glance) adds a load of wonder to the stories. It works beautifully and looks great too! Nice size offers multiple pours that seem endless. Terrific!!!

Spellbinder I consider the prices good, and the quality seems very refined however the weight is to be considered. As a finaly on mine I use a colour tablet to change the water. Try it guys you'll get a good reaction.
