Im looking forward into saving up some money to get a 3 fly set of coins. The 2 that I'm interested in getting are Mark Masons CFWM and Kohlers U3F. I have heard from many people that they like U3F better than CFWM but I can find any place that sells U3F. Is U3F even being sold any more?

U3F hasn't been available for some time [unless you managed to pick up a resale], although I hear a new release is in the works for fall....

"Three Fly" as published uses ungaffed well worn silver dollars.
The item that Bob Kohler sold uses one gaff, sort of an elementary billiards line of approach to the trick. Very practical and well suited to walkaround or platform work. The latest Mark Mason item takes that one step further with two gaffs. Also very practical. You may still want to explore asking Jack Miller to help you get the thing to look as magical as possible.

You Can get the Gaff ( The Locking Half shell) But not the Routine For Todd!

I have Mark Mason's CFWM and I think this coins across is great. I can't talk about U3F because no one that don't own it don't know anything about the routine and it seems to be taboo to ask about it. But you can't go wrong with CFWM.

I've worked on several ungaffed versions of three fly (VCA). I'm never completely satisfied and keep changing them. I'm working on one now that shows the right number of coins in the palm of each hand and shows the back of the hands.
In a few weeks I will be ordering a TT from Todd. One of the things I am hoping to accomplish with this gaff is a cleaner Three fly. Are there any versions in print that use the TT?

Hi Wes,
I have a Handleing That uses A double shell gimmick! But It would be the same with a TT! P.M. if you are interested? |

Hey I got a question about TT. Can the top expanded shell be used by itself for shell routines or does it not cover a lot of a normal coin because it has a shim in it?

I am planning on ordering the gaff that U3F uses. I already made a routine that I am very happy with using 4 coins, but I also incorperated the routine to work with the gaff. Ive never seen Kolher's, but I am excited with my verson of the 3 Fly -DP

Jamie, From what I've been told the top shell is an expanded shell that will fit a normal coin.

Id think you could just get a 3cm. when you can do a really clean 3 fly if you can holdout 3 silently in the other hand, and ditch the gimmick on trabacco hold out and end totally clean. hmmm now I'm wonder hwo using two would look like

If you are going all the way to using a three coin nest, you may as well get it made with half rims so they can slide rather then click into place.
I suggest going for the full holdout extraction approach as when you are performing for money you most likely will have a jacket on for decorum as well as traffic management reasons.

The sliders are nice but I think the nest is more versital prop over all. and when its down to one you can flip and and nice things like that

The CFWM does comes with a locking sliding [ and another gaffed coin and the 3rd regular coin.

The ones I saw did not lock, and they had a interesting feature that's not normal

CFWM uses one locking sliding and the other is magnetic. For my money, this is a brilliant set and a great routine. I also own 3CM, and it is a fundamentally different routine, however if you do dream of silver with a hold out to completely vanish, employ sleeve pockets for introduction of the CFWM set, and then do 3 fly. you have a pricey but perfect routine. it is how I start my show, and I don't do another coin trick, because anything else is a let down.
