Somebody mentioned a mnemonic stack called 'Furry Kitten' the other day as
an alternative to Eight Kings. Anybody heard of this? I'd be very interested in seeing the whole stack. JPL |

I have not had any luck finding this stack in print. Doug Dyment mentions it on his web site, so maybe you can ask him.

Never heard of the furry kitten. It seems Mulholland's hungry jackass is almost as obscure. Few seem to have heard of it.
"Jackass ate live tree. King intends to fix several for benign queen." And of course, chased. That's it. First one I ever learned.

I contacted Doug Dyment and he no longer recalls the source for the Furry Kitten doggerel stack, nor the verse used. Of course, most anyone could create one of the sentences with a bit of imagination and some time on their hands.
If you create one of your own, Other magicians won't recognize it. If you combine it with the suit scheme of Doug Dyment's Quick Stack, if will really appear to be a random and well mixed deck. Dennis Loomis

Okay, I said most anyone could create a "doggerel" stack. I thought I should put up or shut up.
Here's a brand new one, created yesterday by yours truly. Call it "A Fortunate Jack" Stack. While it doesn't rhyme, it's very short and easy to learn. A fortunate Jack severed 95 threatened sick ladies rings! A 4 2 8 J 7 95 3 10 6 Q K Yeah, rings is a poor rhyme for King, but then "live tree" for Five Three is also stretching it a bit. The Suits could be in CHaSeD or SHoCkeD, or the randomizing scheme created by Doug Dyment for his quick stack. Best to all. Dennis Loomis
