Must be a some heavy paper in that bag - it took two hands to lift it??
Sorry, but magic done in ones basement with no purpose does not do much for me. |

Overall I enjoyed it Michael. Keep practicing and that will become much smoother as well, but you performed it very well. If you perform this for friends, I would script yourself a different patter other than offering your audience water from a bowl. I understand though this was for the intention of our viewing pleasure to observe your performance. Perhaps something along the lines of having a fish(fake or real), and producing the bowl of water for its habitat. Obviously you don't have to do this, but just something along those lines that will give you A. a reason to product a bowl of water B. a nice patter that will entertain the audience and also keep them wondering what is he about to do with that bag.
Keep up the good work, Ron |

By this I mean sure your slights are good, your being creative yes, but if you can't present the routines to an audience, it is meaningless. Not fair but a fact of life. Think of it like your stereo. If you have the BEST possible system, DVD player and amplifier, and really crappy speakers, your sound will never be any better than can be generated by THOSE SPEAKERS. This is the same thing. Many guys get by with less ability than you have right now,(Probably ME AS A MATTER OF FACT!) but can get away with it because the "Speakers" in my example are killer. Just some friendly advice.

I agree with Danny D.
He knows what he's talking about and you can learn some valuable information, if you listen. Good luck... |

And that will come with time. I'm sure you will have several speech classes in your schooling career. These will help actually. Even if you become a good speaker, the key is the have patter and script. I don't mean be a robot, but have some idea of how you are going to peform and what you are going to say. It's good to be spontaneous too it just depends what kind of person you are. If you are a class clown or very out going amongst your friends, this should come very natural. If you are shy however, performing magic and entertaining an audience will take a lot of practice and discipline.

I like Ron Slater's idea of the fish in the bowl, with a good presentation, I think that would go over better.
