The audience members on there are not stooges. They are randomly picked audience members instructed to look down at all times.

Marshall - What don't you get???
RE. the clapping, maybe the audio did not pick-up the audience reaction??? Here it did get a standing ovation. It was amazing. The puff of smoke from the exhaust though reminded me of those paper cigarettes kids could puff on (anyone remember those???) Blair Marshall "ShaZzam!"

The 'smoke' came from a fog machine.

I have seen this routine live several times...It is a strong part of his current show...This routine has everything that you could ask for; An emotional story about his grandfather...Great magic...and a suprise climax!!! The last time that I saw it was in Vegas during the WMS. At my table, there were several well know magicians and after the show everyone thought that the "lotto" routine was one of the strongest parts of the show.

Nice convincer on the light array in the background thou...

He even said something to people walking out in the middle of the show... he was very aggravated, but so was the audience. But I will say that this year was the most disappointing Copperfield shows I've seen, and one of the worst of magic altogether. He sold tickets on his name alone. Kids were bored to death as they wanted to see big illusions. Was mostly audience participation and small effects. Even the local headline was, "Not your typical Copperfield!" Talked about how he either forgot his truck carrying his large illusions or just forgot about why his fans show up. |

I would love to see Klok's new show in Vegas. I now it's not the topic but anyone seen it?

Ok guys, sorry but I think some of you have missed the point......
The video on youtube is two minutes of a twenty minute routine in DC's show. It will never have the impact on youtube that it does live. It is not about the standard situation of the Magician producing a car. David is forfilling the ambition of his Grandfather to buy his dream car after winning the lottery. A few minutes before this appearance David correctly predicts the correct lottery numbers chosen by the audience which is supposed to mean he can now have the car. Although he doesn't say "Hey I am gonna produce the car I mentioned earlier now" He just gathers a few sheets together and places people around who have taken part in the Lottery Prediction and BANG! there it is, the exact car his Grandfather always wanted....... It is what Grand illusion is supposed to be about, telling stories. We complete a full circle in this routine and anyone who is judging it purely based on the appearance or this 2 minute clip on Youtube is missing the point big time. I think the missing applause that was mentioned is in actual fact a totally stunned audience who cannot believe what they have seen. I know I couldn't, it is a tremendous routine that left me dumbfounded. Just my thoughts. Rich |

I love the entire routine but unfortunately it doesn't make me feel much better about the illegal taping...

Lol .. Why not email Kenner, Stolz and see if he cares? I myself have contacted
DCDI about such things. And they never seem to do anything about it . . does not make it right on the post's end. This I'm totally agreeing with: But: A simple email from youtube from dcdi would stop it. Does not make it right. But They too can beef up security a bit. And actually DO something when some dude posts a copy on youtube. But they don't. . . . . Why is that? But then again. This was not originally a post about rights. AW or legality - But it does pose some interesting questions on DCDI's battles they choose. And the one's they don't. Moving on |

I spoke with Kenner while he was in Redding about an illegal taping of 13. He knoew all about it and made the comment that if they were to go after everyone who posts some bad press, illegal taping, or even the DC ripoffs, it would take a lifetime to get 'em all.

* But it its cool as heck to see it. As I and other's have not seen this or video's like Man Vs. Steel.
For those like myself who stopped paying for a DC show since Flying / Vegas 01' Things like this are interesting to see. (but does not mean I necessarily support the idiots who record the illegal video's either). Anyway . . . |

The Lottery is one of the best routines I've ever seen any magician do live and one of the best pieces Copperfield has ever done. The quiet/delayed applause is indeed rising out of utter astonishment. This really is what magic should be about.
