Great press and do save it.
A couple words of caution though. The "Uncle Henry at Thanksgiving" reference in the article. Um, well a LOT of people have had that experience, and you are almost trying to sound superior. Make the point, without belittling "Uncle Henry" if you get my meaning. Also same with "effects vs tricks". That is only a distinction magicians make. Let people call them what they will. It is somewhat akin to the Ventriliquists who get angry when people call their dolls dummies! People say dummy, it is a dummy. Tricks, effects, a distinction without a difference. You can, NOT DID, but can come off sounding a bit superior, which is the LAST THING you want. I thought it was a fantastic article, I think it will help you keep the job! Way to go. Please take nothing I say as negative, only fine points. It all points to imiage and is quite important.

I agree with Danny's views too. Too many times magicians use magician's jargon that lay public do not use. The public will always see things differently from a magician's view.
Steve, you have a good promo tool there. Use it as your marketing tool. They will help increase the commercial value of your act and your name too. Congratulations! |

Thanks for the advice guys. One thing I DIDN'T want to have happen in that article was sounding arrogant. That was my biggest fear. I'm glad I didn't come off as such.
Also, as per the advice of Eric Henning, he told me to send them to everyone in Waldorf that might be able to use a magician. That's exactly what I'm planning on doing. I'm going to target some banks and law firms, and other large companies. In a letter that's going to acompany the story, it'll mention Corporate Christmas parties, meetings, and company picnics. I hope to have that done by August, and send them out between mid August to September. Your thoughts? Thanks, Steve |

Nah...you don't sound arrogant. Just remember next time that ANYTHING you say could be used in the article!
