I ordered this from Entity on the basis of all the good reviews above and have not been dissappointed.
Prompt delivery of a very workable and extremely versatile effect (as well as a kind offer from Tom of help with the effect should I need it). Perfect for either on the spot or a more routined presentation - the bizarrist ideas look particularly fun! Thanks Tom (& all) Jon. |

Another thought I had: You could involve more people (should you wish to) by performing this with three people, each with a rock, paper, or scissors business card (or poker chip). They mix them up when your back is turned and you can then reveal which person wins (rather than which hand wins) in any given scenario. This brings the human element to the fore a bit more and would seem to allow for greater presentational scope. And a little thought will reveal that you needn't turn round to face them at all in this version - you can be facing away the whole time.
This would also make for a good stage version of the effect, particularly if you had each person hold a hand up indicating which of the three objects they represent after the mixing procedure. (I also wonder if, with good enough instructions, one could perform the effect with three people and do away with the business cards/poker chips altogether.) I do like this routine. Bravo, Entity.

By the way, I know there's no need to mark the chips or billets or whatever, but if you do then you can have an extra ending. You turn around and spot the one chip or billet not covered and not only tell them which hand wins, but what is under each hand.

Greg,
I have been using that one too. I discussed that with Entity when he sent me the manuscript. |

All of you should feel free to experiment and change things any way you'd like, of course.
To me, though, part of the appeal of my RPS Entity routine is that there are no gaffed chips or billets or pieces of paper. Everything is completely clean. All of the cards or chips are hidden to the Performer, so to the participant it seems impossible for the Performer to know the outcome. If even one of the chips were visible, I think that people might suspect marks of some kind. My goal was to bring the method and presentation to a level of deceptive simplicity, without losing the strength of the effect. My own feeling is that by adding marks, using other ideas for objects than RPS, etc., the effect becomes more complex and therefore less focussed. But hey, to each his own. - entity

I have received the PDF file and it looks promising. I have glanced at it, but not yet studied it. I will study it tomorrow morning on a flight to Dallas. Or perhaps tomorrow night on a flight to Cedar Rapids, IA. Or perhaps Wedneday afternoon on my flight back home to Houston. Or perhaps Thursday while driving to the other side of Houston

This is one of the best TRUE IMPROMPTU effects around. I've heard that it is only sold to those Five foot Six inches or shorter....Just made it
I slayed them at Universal Studio's today. Great effect for short people (ONLY)

Entity,
I studied the routine today on my flight from Dallas to Cedar Rapids. It is very nice indeed. I am looking forward to trying it in real life soon. Thanks, -Rick PS: I did not get the short people joke either.
