Hi everyone,

My Dan Payes Figure arrived yesterday. The figure looks great!!!

The body seemed like it needs more stuffings on the arms and legs but other than that...the figure is Great!

The character of the Payes Old man is very strong I plan to try him out this Thursday at an Adult show

He will also perform in our dual vent act with Ony Carcamo this month...produced by the Manila Enforcer, Rannie Raymundo.

Quite a strong character for adult shows...BUT it would have been nicer, if the arms and legs were properly stuffed.

I can't believe the amount of figures you have Wanlu!! Do you buy a new one for every show? How do you come up with new routines for all of them?

The facial expression on this one is great. I like him a lot.

How about switch Don Dom's body with other figures body, only for stage performing.
Or make another body for him, if you don't want to change the original.

I am very impressed that you can put a new figure into your show within days of receiving him. It takes me months to write and practice a new routine for the figure I've had for nearly 40 years. I just received a new Selberg figure (Granny), and I don't think I'll perform her in public for several months. I have to perfect her voice, create her back story, develop her personality, and write and practice the routine. This is especially hard since her controls are different from my original figure.

At any rate, good for you! I hope you'll post some video for us to see.

Thanks Budi for the suggestion. That's exactly what I was planning to do but I noticed it was quite difficult to change the clothes...so my wife did her own magic and stuffed more cotton stuffings in the legs of the Payes and it worked well. She had to open up an old stuffed doll and used the stuffing of the doll foe the legs of the Payes

Thanks Kimmo..Im quite new in Ventriloquism and I have to confess that getting new figures is quite exciting I use the Selberg and the Axtells as well as my old man figure from Ony Carcamo for my Kidshows The new Payes figure is exclusively for my adult shows I also have a Poyner which Im hoping I can sell soon...its been used only a few times. If I cant sell it soon, Implanning to turn it into a Gay character which is jsut perfect for the type of comedy bars that we have in Manila which is basically dominated by Gay stand up comedians

Hi Bob...Ive been practicing a script even when the Payes figure was still being made by Dan... his chracter is different from the Old Man figure that I use for my kidshows but they have a similar voice and they share a basic script...with the exemption of the adult materilas used by the Payes figure

Last Monday night...I went to a local comedy bar and offered to show my act for free since I really want to practise my new material in front of a real audience...Thank God it went well in fact the ownwer liked it and asked me to perform again tonight how can they not like it? IT'S FOR FREE

I just want to try out the new matertial in front of a real audience but for free ala open mic... before I do it tomorrow night in front of a paying audience The result was beneficial because I took out some lines that bombed last Monday night...

Ony Carcamo killed the crowd with his own hand carved figure Mr Parley and his Hartz figure Lola Belay. Ony's routine with the Vent tricks were simply remarkable...

Rannie Raymundo joined the Improv part of the show and it was a blast He's a crowd pleaser and his personality as a performer is simply put- Charming.

As for me, The vent masks were okay even for a lousy script

The Payes figure did great The crowd reacted very well with the figure's facial features This figure is for keeps

Must be difficult to teach a new California figure Tagalog! My Payes has enough trouble with English...I finally just let him keep his mouth shut and 'think' his lines and I repeat them. Easier that way.

Congratulations on your new DP figure...it looks great! Sounded like the girls liked him!

If you are 'Straight' and work with a 'Gay' figure the possibilites are wide open for huge laffs. Have fun!

Hi ,I am an amateur vent in Missouri. I have four figures and my Payes figure is my favorite. I kind of like the not so full legs.They stay in place a little better for me.I too am amazed at Wanlu's number of figures . Seems like he always has a new one and a few good things for sale on ebay.

I have a few Axtells (Orangutan, Cockatoo, Turtle, Seal, Big Baby, Cry Baby, Storyteller) and a MAT Duck...all I use for my kidshows depending on the party theme e.g. Safari/Zoo, Barn/Farm, Sea/Ocean...plus a Poyner and that's it

The Payes and a local figure I use for my adult shows...which I seldom have so I was planning to sell the Payes

...I figured I'll sell the Payes since I seldom do adult shows and if I do get an adult gig, the Axtell Storyteller can work the Payes' old man routine.

...and use the money to add to my funds for a Hands Free Orangutan...

In the future...when I buy a hands free Orangutan...Ill send my vinyl orangutan to a new young vent for FREE
