Hey guys! I'm going to invest in 3 Dube Clubs, but need some info...

What is the difference between 220 and 260?

Are Phatboyz and European different kinds, companies, or what?

Also, I want to get 3 Dual Arc Decoration clubs, (either Metallic, or Vinyl), but don't know if it is better to get 3 totally different colored clubs, or 3 of the same colored clubs... Also, do you guys like Metallic or Vinyl colors more? (Click Here>>Clubs>>Samples)

I think the 220/260 is weight, possibly milligrams. 220 being the lighter. The PhatBoyz look like they might be similar in design to a Renegade style club. Renegade, a manufacturer, always made a club that was slightly fatter than most.

Colors are really a personal preference. I have always used all the same color and prefer the stage decoration style. The benefit to the Dual Arc decoration is the part of the club that takes the most beating when you drop is unconvered. My first set of Dube's from 23 years ago are still in service on occasion. They have been recovered numerous times. You might want to take a look at RenegadeJuggling.com or Todd Smith Juggling for other club makers. I own both Todd Smith and Dube and can recomend either.

220/260 are the weight in grams, I like the 220.

European are the classic Dube shape. The fat boys are shaped like the Renegades, and it is a matter of taste, I have the European.

I think the Vinyl are kinda plain looking. The ones I have are the red, and gold striped ones displayed in his catalog.

You also have the choice of black, or white bodies, it's your call.

I do not reccomend the short handles, because you will need the long handles to pass clubs with people.

Bryan offers a wide variety of colors so choose carefully. Most people get three clubs the same color, but there are no set rules.

I like the solid color unibody clubs. They take a great beating and will last you much longer with far less upkeep.

Along the topic of clubs ...

Vinnie, good for you for making the jump to some quality clubs. A well made club from any of the companies mentioned (I own clubs from all 3) will last you a long, long time.

I just got the K8 LED lit clubs through Neon Husky (see http://tinyurl.com/2j4lhr ). They're rechargeable, bright colors, 12 different modes for programming, and feel the most like a plain 'ole juggling club than any other lighted club I've tried. I used them for a strolling set after sundown along the broadwalk at the beach Sunday night and the "Wow" factor is there. Everybody dug 'em ... people were taking their picture with me ... fun new prop which I hope will open up other venues.

I hope I can be of some help

American/European?
The both styles that are sold by Dube' are made by Dube'.
American- are a larger bodied club. Great for Passing. or slower style of juggling and tricks.
Used by The flying Karamozov brothers, based on the (I was told) Stu Reynolds style of club.
European- Are traditional clubs, Dube based them on the Fudi style of Juggling club.
For a faster spin for a faster style of juggling.
They are used by a ton of pros. Gena Schvartsman, Joel Hietman (well hell the entire Family, right Cap'n)Anthony Gatto, Mark Nizer, etc.....

American (the ALL white Club)
European clubs-
220 (the silver club) regular body slightly tapored at the end of the club
260 (The yellow club) regular body fatter at the end
PhatBoyz (not pictured) is a large body club, about 2 times the size of a regular club. The same build and decoration as a regular euro club.

The only thing I need to decide is the Arc color... But like you guys said, that's a personal preference. I'll figure it out.
It's either between the Metallic Red, Metallic Green, or Metallic Light Blue... I know it needs to stand out. Any of you guys have any favorites of those 3 colors? =]

Haha, yeah, I took most the advice from you, (Uncle) Al.

I mean, your a juggling king, so you sure as h*ll know what your doing. =]
To tell you the truth, you actually made me pick up those (come to find out) swinging clubs and learn to juggle clubs... Now that I can juggle swinging clubs, juggling clubs should be cake!

But yeah, my mind has been made up!
Now if I could only order them sooner. (The white bodies are out of stock at Dube)

Now that you are a serious juggler there are a few things to remember. The hat, suspenders, or vest says to everyone that you are the entertainment. Always dress up even if you are not getting paid. Never smoke, use bad language, or do anything that will give juggling, or jugglers a bad name. Join the IJA, attend some regional conventions find some nearby friends with the same interest as you, most jugglers today are your age. Those Dube clubs come with a lot of tradition, and responsibility remember Enrico is watching you.

I would also add to Als list of advice would be to learn one or two stunts with everyday objects to impress peope in casual situations. People feel that clubs, balls ect are made for juggline, so when you lock some forks together and ballance them on a glass ontop of another glass on a salt shaker and then ballance it on your chin...people are realy impressed. Just pick a few snappy moves up and thans enough.

Juggling is a beautiful obsession.

Weather you are doing magic, or juggling every day items will really impress people. It will knock their socks off if you balance a baseball cap on your nose, and finish by pushing your head forward, and have the cap land on your head.

I once saw a great juggler here is boston named lucky bob (later became a good freind) ballance a hat on his head like you described and then ballanced a pair of sun glasses on his nose by one of the arms....simply the most incredible ballance tricks ive ever seen.

YAY! I'm in luck! I emailed the guys at Dube, and they told me that they actually got the White Bodies in a few weeks ahead of schedule!

So I made my order for the 3 clubs tonight! I can't wait to receive them and start juggling real professional clubs! =]

But... Club juggling is nothing like juggling the way I learned (with swinging clubs)!

I need to get some material and read up/watch how to do this stuff effectively.
