The show has been on for 15 minutes. Are people still watching?

I'm watching it and enjoying it! I have friends watching it and they are calling me on every commercial break asking lots of questions. I hope it's doing as well nationally as it's doing in my little circle! Smile

It was good I was just talking on the phone and typing after the first bit.

I was quite pleased with what I saw.

It made me happy.

I missed the beginning, but I liked what I saw too.

So apparently did Susan Stewart, a reviewer who wrote this New York Times Television Review 'Derre......ontrol'.

Fortunately, they're repeating the show in a few more minutes, so I'll get to see all of it tonight. Smile
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.

Considering none of this has been seen on US TV I think it was good.

I wonder if budgets constraints made him use so much of the previous UK shows or the mind set of recyclings and getting a few more miles out of the shows.

If you have seen the UK shows then it was just repeats, with a little US audience worked into it.

He is a cheeky chap mind you.

Love the blank money routine, very naughty.
I do look forward to the day when you post something constructive.

I liked that he completely redid his ad agency bit. I felt as if it was a subtle nod to all of us nerds who would have seen the original version. I mean there was no reason to redo the original one, it was near perfect, but I appreciate that he did redo it, if only because it shows he was willing to put some work into the show for us Yanks.

I had guests at my house: my gf, who is no stranger to DB's machinations...and other friends who were virgins to the Objective experience...many who were concert musicians and at the denoument of the concert piece there was not a dry eye in my living room.

Bravo cubed.

Great show. Only about half of it was new stuff though. For an American Audience it was all new though. The laypeople watching with me said that he must be gifted.

Congratulations Derren!

I fell asleep. It may be great stuff, but if he's going to grab the American audience he's going to have to step it up a notch or two.

I really dug the show...however, I was
reminded of when I was a young boy
and watched the Dunninger show on TV.
It all seemed too impossible to be accomplished
by "mortal" means and therefore,
"collusion" became my immature explanation.
Thank goodness I have grown older and wiser!
[insert ironic smiley face here]

One of the up-sides of the presentation
is that it may serve to "pump-up" the
publics rapidly dwindling faith in psychology.

SciFi's website says the clip of the show is unavailable. What was the concert piece? And can anyone give a brief synopsis of the show (I live in the uk)? Thanks.

Well, he is very honest about his dishonesty as he even states usually at the beginning of his shows, that they are based not certain principles and especially showmanship.

(The show was pretty much everything already shown on various other episodes in the UK, just kind of a highlight of his stuff it seems to get the US 'caught up' with what he's doing.)

Do you say that in reference to his presentation and showmanship, or rather the potency of his effects?

I liked it. I like Derren. He takes brilliant advantage of how "programmed and programable" we all are.
