At least Derren doesn't spend half the show focused on his family members who go on and on about how they're really worried he might die this time during his next stunt...

Yes, UK bits were used to save money. Think about the cost of producing 6 brand new 1 hour specials filmed in the US, and you immediately grasp why. Besides, the UK pieces are so good, why not use them again for a new audience? If you were going to do your show for an important new audience who had never seen you before, wouldn't you use your best tried and true material?
Was it good? Well, I ask you to name ANY other magic or mentalsim special that even comes close. If the SciFi link is down, go to DB's MySpace site; the whole episode is available there. Finally, can any of you make out the word DB uses to describe his techniques in his intro? He slurs over it and smiles, but I think it is "discredited." Bob |

Is anyone from the uk able to see these clips? I can only see the fingers and group orchestra influence experiment, and all that occurred after it.

I thought it was great, although those watching with me thought the opening piece in the mall was no big deal, as it wasn't really clear what was being continuously fed through the PA system. I hope it goes well.

Anywhere to watch the show instead of the Sci-Fi website? It says it doesn't play in my country.

I'm sure our friend in the US will return the favour by putting the show on youtube, as we have done for so long in the uk
Give it a few weeks - looking forward to it. |

Some of the bits have been on You Tube for awhile.
Derren is amazing. I liked the fact he showed spots when it did not work. You have to respect him for being honest about his skills. And he is a likeable chap.

Nucind;
He is wonderfully affable, and a joy to meet after the show. I'm sure he is going to be massive in the states. I just hope he doesn't disappear from us! David. |

I really loved seeing the ad agency piece reworked...with new nuances and subtleties.
Derren will win over the Americans that don't have the smaller brains. (There are a few of us...Isso). Quote:

I think what is most interesting is which pieces and at which pace he chose for his American debut. And he didn't yell "Let's do this" at the camera once. D. |

I've read the show had the part in NY where the hotdog dude got angry at Derren for offering blank paper instead of money.
That could be more dangerous than any stunt Criss ever done. |

Can UK viewers not see this esp on sci-fi?
I do look forward to the day when you post something constructive.

I thought it was a brilliant move on Derren's part to make him even more likeable than he already was during the show. His reaction to the hotdog guy was hilarious, everyone in the room at my house busted out laughing. Two of my friends (neither of them performers) also commented on the end piece. One of my friends said, "See, it doesn't work everytime! They say not everyone can be hypnotized, so what he does must be like hypnotism." My other friend chimed in with, "It was pretty great of him to show himself failing. It makes him seem more down to earth to me. I don't remember seeing any Criss Angel outtakes when we watch him." Everyone that I know that tuned into the show was very positive about it. I can't wait until next week! |
