I always thought it was in poor taste to kill off my Remote Vision Color Cube threads with postings about Craigs cube being better. But, that is how Craig's crew rolls.

Tim that post of mine was a year ago, I apologise if it offended you.
But things move on, and improvements are made to an existing type of effect, and we buyers discuss those improvements, the purpose of all these Magic Café threads is not for you to promote your product exclusivly, but to discuss the very similar competitors products so that comparisons can be made. Your cube had been the benchmark that others were judged by for a long time, - until MD arrived, IMHO. I own several Tim Wissemans products and they are all very very good, I have written and reviewed (positivly) about your products too, but when something else comes along that is so similar but better than your Mini Remote Vision Colour Cube it needs to be discussed. I am sure nobody will mind if you discuss your cube on the MD/Promystic threads! Steve |

I have seen the Pro-Mystic Multi Dimensional Color Cube. It is very nice … the perfect trophy prop most magicians & mentalist would love to have in their collection of Cadillac props.
I’ve just purchased the Remote Cubed 3000 by Tim Wisseman. This prop is a Cadillac as well. Handling is different and has a very strong transmitter. I’ve walked 60 feet away from the transmitter and still got signal. Of course that was just a test on signal strength. In reality you can have an audience member come to the stage … put the cube and box in a bag to conceal it from the audience, return to their seat … select a color (concealed in the bag & box) and tell them what it is. Having seen and handled both products I’d prefer the Tim Wisseman product over the other and here is why… I had purchased Anverdi Spirit Bell from Howie Schwartz. This prop was a real Rolls Royce but I realized later it reeked of electronics and for the beauty of quality that it is … the effect of the bell was never as strong as I thought it should be. It just didn’t look ordinary. The Wisseman product looks and feels like something you might have put together in your garage using your table saw. It looks that down to earth and ordinary … earthy. And as with any magic or mentalist affect … if you want to entertain yourself with the product stay at home. Don’t over use the product in front of your audience. Once is Magic … Twice is Education. Don’t telegraph what your doing or what you have with over use. PazzazMagic |

I have a custom made Tim Wisseman Die cube, he made look real old for me, so I can say my paw-paw was a carpenter and made it 70 years ago just for fun, and I inherited it. It is a plus that you will know when it is not in the box, as people always try to trick you and not put it in the box. With the other one, you have to wing it, and I do have the other one and also use it. With Tim's that is a very good and important feature. When the box is empty, I tell the person they have a blank mind. Sometimes I say they must have blond roots, or they are a blond, and their head is empty, or an air head! I don't feel bad saying this, as they are trying to mess me up, so I hit them back. No one ever gets offended, they are just very amazed! And I have gotten burnt with the other one. Now I shake the other box to make sure it is in it. But I do not start off making it a challenge, but there are also smart-A people that try to mess you up, and when they do that, I say, anything goes. I do not do mental magic and do not present it as such, but say it is something my paw paw used to do to me and I would like to share it with them. Tim's is fool proof in this respect.
If you are new in magic and still working on audience control, or even a seasoned pro, Tim's is great.

And to be fair, I love the other one by the other guy we will not mention in this thread, but go to his thread, and you will see my rave reviews. They are both GREAT! A working pro should have both in his arsenal, for whatever situation arises. I do. I am prepared. If you work, then you can easily afford both of them, so just get both, and use them as needed. I think I like Tim's for my kid shows, and the other one for adults, but you may use either as you please. At one show, I had them both out, and had the kid pick the one they wanted me to use. Or use both one after the other. One with color and one with the die. Do the die first( the other one), and the color second if they try to trick you and not put it in the box, so you will know it is not there. and you can tell them they cheated. And then the die and do not even use the box, have them put it under several napkins to make sure you cannot see it, and you can press down the napkins and make sure it is there.
Take care and peace, ACE

I got one recently and can report that it is - still - excellent.
Hocus Pocus now offer it as an exclusive. It is simple DIY to turn it into a smarter-looking prop if such things are important to you. Personally I like the fact that it looks like a bit of a toy - which is just what Tim intended with his design. I introduce it as a colour picker from my young kid's board game. There are several models available on the market, at hugely varying prices, but if you want something to "do what it says on the tin", at an affordable price, then this is the one to go for. And Paul Goss tells me he has never had one returned faulty. I had an electronics friend check out the board (having been let down by a poorly made one from another manufacturer in the past) and he reported it as a nice piece of electronic work. The main choice, I think, is whether you prefer a receiver that uses lights as its interface - which is great for stage use - or a vibrator (stop sniggering in the back of the class). There are advantages and drawbacks to both, so choose carefully. Personally I'd love a model that offers you the two, for different performing conditions. Best Bob |

Every prop has a downside or weak spot.
One of the joys of magic today (for me anyway) is that, whilst one is spoiled for choice on the market, you have to really research the item and its competing products, and think about how you motivate the circumstances that meet the weaknesses. In this instance: - The Promystic is a lovely prop, but hideously expensive. - Remote 3000 has to be inside its box, which can seem a limiting factor. - iCube or rvPhotocube transmit via an iPhone - which can drop out on occasion. - using a vi****ing receiver requires you to count the transmissions, which can be disconcerting as it demands your attention. - but using a receiver with l****s has to be in view, and this can be limiting. |

I have Tim's Remote Vision Die, regular size and like it for several reasons. I have an antique Spirit Bell by Tim and need something that looks wooden and old, that matches my bell. Also, I have no problem using a box. It is completely examinable, and it hides the spots so I can reveal the number in whatever way I want. I use my Spirit Bell. It depends on what you want to do with it and how you want to present it. I love old wooden props that look homemade because the audience would never suspect anything funny. With polished large dice or small plastic looking PM dice, they look like they could have been purchased at a store. Mine does not! Cheers!
