Jake:
We discussed these on the phone yesterday. I think you have succeeded in capturing the spirit, functionality and appearance of the Gazzo cups. No wonder Gazzo was so "expressive" in his comments to you! Beautiful work, man!

Nice cups Jake. How heavy are they?
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

Please don't tell us you're clear coating them? Gazzos need to "age" gracefully to get the true feel of the street.

Most important first, Dave, no clear coat. Right now the only thing we clearcoat is the antique finishes. As to a combo cup, that will be up to Gazzo and Penguin. These are only prototypes, Penguin could very well reject them, I know Gazzo won't but they could.
Richard, all 3 cups are different weights as they were made from some left over 065 copper, give or take up to 006/7, so the weights are different. The heaviest is actually 3/4 of an oz heavier than that of the Animal version. Again, this is a deal between Gazzo and Penguin, I was just sharing the final prototype pictures. Lets give Gazzo and the good folks at Penguin some play time with them and some feedback time. The picture was just of satin finished cups that were about 5 minutes old, the finished product I'm suggesting to Gazzo and Penguin is polished, however by leaving a soft satin finish the Patina will set in 5x quicker than a polished set as the pores to the copper are still open. Let's hold any further questions until Gazzo and Penguin has had the adequate time to discuss and critique the cups and thier design. What ever Gazzo and Penguin chooses, I'm sure will be the best for everyone, most importantly the consumer. Sam at Penguin has been working diligently to make the right decisions and the sails so the course of Penguin changes, I'm sure in the near future, a different, more positive tone will be set by Penguin with the magic community because I have note other reason to believe different based on Sam's good word that he has always kept an open line of communication between us open on some issues. Thanks everyone for your kind words and your questions and comments. Best Jake

I know when Sam took his position at Penguin he had a whole lot of baggage to get rid of, and he had a difficult task ahead of him. I hope this is a signal that he is going to do it right.

Jake,
Your work speaks for it's self yet again, but when I try and put words together to make my comments on the G2's. I found myself at a lost. Sometimes art dose not need words to speak. Sean |

It is never easy coming into an existing business as a manager and making necessary changes that will have a major positive effect on the company. Again, Sam has always been straight foward with me and never hesitated with any questions I had with him in regards to the direction Penguin was trying to take. From past experience I knew the mess he had on his hands and the uphill battle he faced. If one was to spend a few hours and really start digging deep into the catagories at Penguin they would notice quite a bit of product has reach end of life or just isn't there anymore, and also the public is seeing more of the popular released effects from distributors showing up on the site. This is a very good sign.
