Well I have just received my Triple Threat in soft Morgan dollars, and boy this is one awesome Gaff.
I know there have been many reviews about this and the 3cm but I would just like to say a few things regarding this gaff I ordered this about 7 weeks ago (well some where there abouts lol) I have been waiting for this day to come and was buzzing with excitement when I received an email to say it was been shipped to me. Well today I received a letter from parcel force here in the uk stating that I had to pay an extra £41.3p before I could get my TT . , this is about $83 dollars to you guys in the US. Well I was furious that this was because of the HM revenue and customs here in the uk so this really put me on a downer as I either had to pay this or they would ship it back to Todd . To add insult to the wounds I had to go to my nearest Depot which is just over 20 miles from where I live else they were gonna charge me extra on top of the bill for delivery which they said would be a charge of £12 which by this time I was really annoyed as you can imagine ,as this is about 24 dollars as well as the 83 dollars I had to pay to customs. Well I decided to go and drive the 20 odd miles to collect my package ,i had lost the buzz cause of this and was not as eager as I was before I received that dam letter. I picked up the package had a few choice words with the guy behind the counter about me being ripped off and decided to go back home,i was on that much of a downer I did not open the package there and then ( a little foolish me thought afterwards cause if my TT was damaged in transit from the us then I would have been back to the delivery place). Well I arrived home sat down and opened my package ,Todd had packaged it really well . so I opened the second section and got to my TT.Well the disappointment turned to relief when I seen the great craftsmanship of the gaff,i have had a 3cm in the past and sold it here on the Café and I must say to me the TT is the winner hands down ,this is no disrespect to Jamie as he is a very good gaff maker himself and a very pleasant guy to do business with , but this is what I had been looking for a gaff that has the EX[ with it so I can use it with my regular Morgans. This delighted me as the EX fits every one of my soft Morgans ,i know all coins are not the same in diameter but this fits perfectly with mine ,maybe I due a bit of luck lol. Anyway back to the TT ,the EX[ has no distortion at all and the coin blends in nicely with my regs you can't tell the difference ,i can do a coin roll without a problem with the TT and it stays nicely together even when I flip the TT in the air there is no problem of it coming apart. The nesting and unnesting is a breeze so there ain't any probs there ,also the remilling of all the coins makes for that easy grip .When nested together the coins look as one there is no tell tale sign when laid on a surface.Even the EX[ fits really well over my reg coins. I have read a lot of reviews on here with people saying all sorts of stuff about Todds work and all I can say is that I have had no trouble with Todd at all he has been very helpful and contacted me when ever I have emailed him ,sometimes you might have to wait a few days for a response but hey the guy is busy making gaffs for all us coinman so a little patience doesn't go a miss. This review was me letting a few no about the issues I have had here in the uk so that anyone outside of the US realise this might happen to them and also it was a small review of the TT so people can make there minds up them self . I would like to say this is the first time I have ordered anything from Todd and I have know allegiance to Todd ,but would definitely order again from him . Thanks Todd Best Shaun. P.S Please don't delete this post as this is about people coming on this forum looking for answers and genuine replies to questions about certain gaffs and ideas for effects. I would never have had some of my gaffs if it were not for this forum so thanks to all the helpful people on here.sorry for rambling on but it means a great deal to me. |

I am now but I was not this morning lol,as you can see in my post with the spelling mistakes how I was not very happy with the customs .I think we get ripped off enough here with all the Taxes , but that's another issue.

I received some soft Morgans and an expanded [ from Todd a couple of weeks ago and his craftmanship was great here also. The coins are beautiful and as close to perfect as I think you could get! Sorry to hear about the postage problem, we don't have that problem to deal with here in the U.S.A., it would have got me quite upset too, but I wouldn't blame Todd for that. I am happy to hear the coins came out so well, good luck with them.....
Where I go, so do my coins.....

I'll be better prepared next time lol,the coins are excellent so at least that makes me happy. shaun. |

Shaun,
Same thing happens here in Canada. Like you say, best bet is to simply factor in the tax ahead of ordering [painful I know]. There's nothing worse than waiting a month or two for the coins only to have the wind taken from your sails unexpectantly! |

Yeah rutabaga it does take the wind out of you,it just annoys you when the goverment takes all they can from you that's all.
Well next time I'll be ready lol. |

Hi Shaun,
I remember the excitement I experienced when I received my TT as well. While I often carry a deck of cards, rubber bands, or other magic items with me, the TT is the only magic item I carry with me every day. You will, no doubt, develop many new routines of your own with this truly wonderful gaff. Enjoy! Regards, Steve

You folks are tearing me apart.
I was close to buying a TT. Then I changed my mind and decided on the Cerberus. Now you are making me think I should get the TT first. I can see many uses for both. Without going over budget I can only get one right now........decisions, decisions, decisions.

Thanks for the review, Shaun. I just pulled out my list of coin gaffs I own and I see I have 14 gaffs/sets from Todd, bought over the past several years, but NO Triple Threat...definitely will be the next order I send him.

I had the same problem as you Shaun, customs are a pain but unavoidable. Parcel force charged me for next day delivery and then failed to deliver! I live 90 miles from the nearest depot. However when I did get my TT like you I was extremely pleased. Todd's work is always spot on and worth the wait.

I have Todd's Triple Threat and have had a wonderful time doing it for people (they seem to like it a bunch, too). I ordered and just received a matching dollar set of Copper Southern Rhodesia coins to complete a Hopping Half set from Todd, Zowie! what fun! New routines are forming in my brain as I type. Jess

Years ago I was selling boxed software. A shipment to Israel was kidnapped by customs there and held for a ransom tax *higher* than the retail price!
Unlike gaffs, the marginal cost of software is cheap, so we let !@#$% customs simply keep the shipment, and arranged to have another hand-delivered by a friend of the customer. |

Here is a hint to avoid such customs and taxes.
Ask the salesman if he could declare the item as a gift and package it as one too. The bill should be in a sealed envelope also. In this way they cant add any taxes for it Here in germany they love it to add customs and taxes on every packet you recieve if the price of teh content is above the 25USD free-limit. |

I sent Jamie an E mail a few days ago requesting a time line for some items I'd like to purchase but haven't heard back yet and the suspense is killing me! LOL
I can't imadgen dealing with customs and long distance as well! His shop is 90 miles from me so once I order and he has it ready I plan to pick it up in person! Hope I hear back by mid week! |
