Wait wait wait, I have to ask this.

So now we actually BELIEVE the audience decides?

It's Geller who decides which mentalists he wants to keep for the next shows.. the audience only votes around the finals. At least that's how it was in the original show.

By the way, Geller's decisions were biased.

My understanding is that the audience votes. This is NOT the same show as the one in Israel. Smile

It is more like American Idol mixed with Top Chef.

"THANK YOU, DJM!"

Now we know that this will be worth participating in, let alone bother watching.

Tony, it's based on the Israeli show, so I assume most of the things will be around the same idea and format. Even if this time the audience will get to decide, Uri will probably still be involved in that as well. He's not just there to sit and watch.

Let me send you a PM.

The movie Underdog is based on the cartoon of the same name, enough said. Smile

The best way to get the answers is to do as I did and contact the casting company directly. They have been very open and direct with me.

So who among us after the Clay Akin thing BELIEVE the audience decides?

Really guys they take NO chances. They know full well who is going to advance and who is not. The phone thing is no where NEAR regulated.

Come on this is big business. At least Idol is.

Not one "American Idol" has been chosen by votes, NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE VOTE. I mean come on guys who counts the votes after all and where is the check and balance?

Like I said do you really BELIEVE that is how it is done?

You mean it is rigged, like a mentalism trick?

I've heard that they total all the votes in a big calculator and then hit "=" to get the answer. Sounds fair to me. Smile

It amazes me how the naysayers immediately jumped on this one. Sorry guys, but this one is legit. I got a phone call from them about it and asked a LOT of questions about it.

Whether the show will have "legs" or not remains to be seen, but the offer is serious and real.

This is NOT an "American Idol" model, even though the audience will vote on the last show and will help in the event of a tie according to what I was given to understand, but a talent search, plain and simple. And, unlike the press release, they ARE looking for magicians as well.

So I would urge anyone interested to check it out.

Thank you for clarifying the voting question.

BTW: I've said nothing negative about this show, with the exception that it will not be the same as the Israeli show (which is not negative, just personally disappointing). I think it is a great opportunity for anyone who makes it to the show. The amount of exposure and opportunities it CAN open can only be guessed at.

I thought that a mentalist would know for sure!
