I have had a number of questions about the proper execution of the Conjuror's Wand Drop, which I mentioned in another thread. There are some variations on it, but they all basically work as follows:
Start into the Vernon wand spin. As the hand moves from the upward to the downward position, spread your fingers slightly. The wand will drop. Resist the temptation to try to grab the wand before it hits the floor. This ruins the drop and turns it into a simple Conjurer's Wand Fumble. It is best to perform this with a wand that will not dent or practice over a sofa or bed. The drop vanish can be performed at the same time and it will fool the audience. After all, if you can't hold onto your wand, how could you be the master of sleight of hand that all of us are, if only on the inside! Don't make a "move" out of this.

If you spin the wand a little higher and harder, you may get a black eye along with the wand propelling in the air during the drop. The intensity of the spin can also get you a color changing eye effect, if desired.

You can also get "The Vanishing Spouse"
This can be achieved in two similar ways. (1) Do the wand drop but include the Transformation of a Favourite Ornament/Keepsake into the Broken Ornament/Keepsake when you are halfway through the drop. This can sometimes lead to T.V.S. sometimes for good. (2) Do the Conjuror's Wand Drop as normal but put in a purely involuntary phase at the end known as the If you Keep Using That Kind of Language, You Will Sleep in the Shed/Garage. This just about always leads to T.V.S. The male does the celebrated "Turning into a Pub" effect or the female doing a Colour Change from normal to bright red.

It could. I should also mention that, according to some private messages I have received, I should have credited Sir Isaac Newton with this, since he discovered gravity. This is not exactly an oversight on my part. Many scientists and even laymen knew about gravity before Newton was born, but they had never expressed it as eloquently as he did, and they had not published their findings.

Just imagine doing the conjurer's wand drop without gravity. It'll become the conjurer's wand levitation and suspension. We may also face a host of other problems too, magically I mean.

Golden rod and dogs are not exactly the best combination in the world!

You get immediate reaction, especially the dog. A run-away wand effect can also be created.
