I have heard of using the Stripper Deck to force a card. What routines does anyone know of that a Stripper Deck can be used to force a card?

Hi drkptrs1975,
I deal extensively with forcing cards using the spectator to cut the deck in the section on programmable forcing decks in my book "The Stripper Deck" and in the DVD "Strip with Jon Thompson". |

Although this is a DVD review, it is relevant to the Gaffed & Funky forum and likely more of a benefit to readers here than in the DVD section. Having said that, it will still likely get moved by the mods.
I don't know Jon, never met him, and have no association with him whatsoever. Now, I gotta say that his 'Strip' DVD is one of the BEST card DVDs I've bought this year. I hate tipping stuff that's flying under the radar, but this collection of effects has got some powerful mojo happening in it. The disc's title says it all, so I wouldn't be buying it if you're a "purest" who doesn't work with stripper decks. As an aside, I really don't need to know if you only prefer to work with normal cards.......really, I don't! If you like to work with a stripper deck, you're missing some great material if you don't have this DVD. (Jon includes a factory Bicycle stripper deck along with the DVD.) I also ordered Jon's Stripper book from LULU, but it hasn't arrived yet, although the Table of Contents indicates some nice material is being covered. I'm looking forward to reading it. One last thing that's got nothing to do with the quality of the magic, but everything to do with how easy a magic DVD is to sit through for an hour and watch. This DVD is funny. Some DVDs produced over here try very hard to be funny, and often fail in quite an obvious manner. Not Jon's disc. Perhaps it's the British sense of humor, or maybe it's just because they don't try as hard to BE funny, they wind up being naturally funny. Anyway, the cast of characters in this disc make it very easy to watch and learn. All in all a great DVD, currently under the radar for lots of folks over here, and full of material that not everybody and their dog is doing. As a matter of fact, I've not seen ANYBODY in my local area doing ANYTHING off this disc.......and although it's all good, a huge chunk of the material on this disc really kills. |

Thank you very much for the review, Silver King.
It was a lot of work to get right, and I was worried about it for a long time. But when I saw the pre-production cut, I realised it was going to be something to be proud of. "Out of Sight (Redux)" really is deadly! |
