Hey there,

I have been engaged for a show for a company specialising in oil spills. They are building a concept of a global company with a regional focus. I have received requests to give out little packages of magic items that hopefully ties in with the theme.

It will be a restaurant walkabout magic performance.

Any ideas what kind of packet tricks would be suitable for this type of event? Anyone has similar experiences?

What is the theme? Oil spills, going global or something else?

I hope they are planning on buying the materials for the "magic packages" they want you to give away. If not, that could run into a LOT of money on your behalf.

One thing to consider are the Fortune Telling Fish. You can tell some story of how fish need clean water to survive and curl up and die if it's not available. Then, when those involved in "the business" put it on their hand and it curls up, they will always be reminded of what their mission is, to clean up spills so the fish will survive.

Hmmm...not bad for a quick thought! You can get them really cheap and give them away all day long.

Mark.

How about those flat compressed sponges. They come in different shapes and you can get whatever you want printed on them. Could probably do a simple packet effect with some rectagular ones.

Yes they do. It's called frixion. I just got a couple the other day. Think they only have it in the UK.

You guys think it might be a good giveaway?

I'm not sure where I saw it, but I think it was from the guy on tv bill nye the science guy. I think it was a pitcher of water with a bunch of ink inside, so totally black in other words. he added something to the pitcher and started stirring it and in a blink of an eye, the water was crystal clear again. it was some kind of chemical reaction, but very very very visual!! if anyone here happens to know the method, please post it!
