Hey guys, whats your opinion on the best billet routines for impromptu situations using a billett switch?,
ive read the section in cornda and like the Q@A in there, just wondered what else people like to use when asked to perform and all you have is few bits of paper, p.s no centre tears or peeks please. thanks for your help. |

Cassidy's "Name/Place" routine is wonderful for situations like this.
You can also find a bunch of wonderful ideas from "Switchcraft". This is one of my favorite books, not just because of the amount of knowledge crammed between its covers, but also because of all of the supplements that continue to end up in my email box. |

Thanks guys,
I’m actually well into the next supplement, which, unfortunately, is taking much longer to put together than it should. I’m almost there, and it has some good stuff…including two routines (by me) that fit Dylan’s criteria. Actually, Dylan, I suspect that a lot of stuff in Switchcraft will be right up your alley. I specialize in one-on-one and close-up billet work, and the routines in the book reflect that. If you ever do pick it up, I suggest checking out these effects which may be nicely suited for you: A Question and the Answer Times Two COINfabulation A Perfect Prediction The Fortune Telling Game The Pusillanimous Billet Read Stack Master Predict Anything Of course, there’s a ton of other stuff in the book (and forthcoming supplements) you may like. I just picked a few personal favorites I think would be good candidates. Just refreshed...Switchcraft is my book on billet work. You can get it here: http://ebswitch.googlepages.com/home Thanks again, Elliott |

Switchcraft is a must in my opinion!
And the generous amount of follow-ups that Elliot is sending to the origianl buyers has a lot of workable stuff and some contributions from other people too.
Then you'll rise right before my eyes, on wings that fill the sky, like a phoenix rising!

Thanks so much Paolo!!! Could one of the other people be someone we know???
Re: Peek Encores It’s a little outside of my area of expertise, but I think recommending it is a pretty safe bet. I recently had a quick skim of it it, and it seemed pretty neat. Certainly, it comes very highly recommended. If peeking is your thing, it’s probably a must buy |

Peek Performances should be purchased first. There's quite a few good peeks, tears, and effects, but the subtleties, thinking, and performance tips really make the book worth it. Peek Encores has the peek I use the most, but even with that in mind, I would recommend Peek Performances first and foremost.
As for your original post, Switchcraft is the best route you could take. /paul.f |

Yes,Switchcraft sounds perfect for you're looking for.
I think Jermay works is not for beginner at all(except the instant download, perhaps ). Nowadays try to do Jermay works sounds great. Lot of my friends who are beginner in mentalism( but not in magic)try to start mentalism by Jermay works because he's well know among the magic population and every body talk about him and his works. Well, this is for a good reasons, this man is brilliant. my friends ask me " could you explain to me that(some jermay works) I don't understand...oh !, what surprise ! Classic magician are often ignorant in mentalism. It was the same for myself when I started mentalism. I knew the Corinda,Waters, Maven and that's it. mentalism is it more underground ?

Peek Encores is an in depth look at 4 original peeks with folded business/index cards - so if you don't want peeks it's not for you. It's Richard Busch's follow up to his book Peek Performances. I'd recommend Peek Encores mainly to those who already own Peek Performances and who already have a good deal of experience with billets. Peek Performances is a much more varied book and I personally got much more out of it than the follow up.
Switchcraft is definitely the place to go if you are inteseted in billet routines based on a switch. |

Elliott is a really nice guy. I purchased Swithcraft and really enjoyed reading it.
I like the idea he sends supplements, and it encourages me to send him some ideas of my own which I use daily to publish in a future supplement. |

Cassidy's Jazz Mentalism and The Godfather Of All Billet Tests (in The Artful Mentalism of Bob Cassidy) are worth learning. Also Docc Hilford's Dance of Shiva.
