I am trying a trick where I have to force the top 2 cards for a double lift. The forces that I use usually pick off the top card, so they won't work. What are my options for forcing the top 2 cards?

The explanation of the trick calls for either a hindu top card force or a riffle force.

What are my other options?

'Cut Deeper Force'.
'Cross Cut Force'.
Vinnie "The Godfather" Marini's 'Giggle Force'.

Thanks, I think of the cross force which would be perfect doing this trick at a table, but I guess you can't do a cut force when performing while standing and don't have a table.

So I think I will use that table side.

Is a riffle/dribble force out of the question? Just do the riffle force, cut the deck, and double lift the top two cards. Simple.

The Cut Deeper force is good in this situation. You don't need a table for it at all. Personally, this is what I would use.

I think this is sufficient for the situation where guessing the selection is irrelevant.

In case 5% failure of Classic Force can be covered, I would use Classic Force saying "Please touch a card".

BTW, I am interested in what effect happens after the Force. According to the effect, it is possible it is better not to use a Force.

This trick is a 2 card transposition, at the end of the first stage the spectator has a card in their hands that they believe is a different card because of a double lift. At this time I have 2 cards at the top of the deck, and I need to use a force that does not upset the order of the top 2 cards. Once it is forced I perform a double lift, show the spectator the card (which is 2nd from the top), and put it back on top. Then take off the top card, wave it over their hand and in their mind the 2 cards switch places.

So far the best method for me for the force is to cut the deck, catch a pinkie break, and do the riffle force.

After reading the effect I stand by my original post. Riffle force and double lift.

I think Riffle Force is fine. But the problem is in the effect. It is not a transposition as an indifferent card appears in spectator's hand at last. Or do you use a duplicate card?

In history of 'Two Card Transposition with Double Lift', I have not found a version in which Force is used for second card. I think Force only complicates the effect.

But I think we can perform a nice effect using the Force idea if we make it as a 'Change' effect, not as a transposition.

The first selection is buried in the deck. Second card is selected (Force), and the second card change to the first selection.

You can use a classic force as well, once you cut the target card to the middle and keep a break.

U cna do the criss cross force standing up also. This is not original..i don't know where I read it..probably in a book by Harry Baron.
After the spectator cuts the deck...(lifts up a few cards) which is in ur Left hand,REVERSE the remaing deck of cards and tell the spectator to do likewise and place his cards crosswise on you r cards .So you have two crd stacks ,face up and one lying across the other. Now just reverse the whole set .... you know the rest.

Maybe the trick will be more entertaining if you don't use Forcing as well as second Double Lift. The effect will be as below.

After the selected card is buried in the deck, magician states "I never made a mistake in this trick", and proceed to find the selection. He cut the deck and and show the top card. But it is not the selection. It is placed on the table face down.

Magician says "Give me one more chance", and try to find the selection one more time, but the same card (as the one he seemingly tabled) appears. He asks the name of the selection and ask spectator turn over the card on the table. He says "I never make a mistake".

If I understand the trick: From top down...duplicate, indifferent, duplicate. Try this: Have your set up on top. Cut 1/3 of deck to bottom and hold break. Begin cutting off small packets of cards to table asking spectator to say stop. When they do cut to break and toss on top of tabled cards. Pick up deck and double lift handing top card to spec.

This time cut 2/3rds to bottom and hold break with R.Thumb while holding deck from above with R.H. Flex deck and begin dribbling cards onto your palm up L.H. asking spec say stop. When they do drop to the break and place remaining cards in R.H. on bottom. Do your second double and finish.

This is a sweet sequence that moves smoothly and the forces are very easy and deceptive. With only a bit of practice they are virtually 100%. Best,

I agree a riffle force would be fine cutting both the card to the top in perfect position for a double.
