Let me first say that I am not proud of what I did .... or should I say what I didn't do?

The Story: My sister owns and runs a party rental business. Renting out Moon Jumpers and Tables for kids parties and such.
Well, one night she needed help picking up some of the jumpers from a couple houses. I agreed to go along after I was done working out.
When I was finally ready and on the road w/ her and my father they brought up that the first house we had to go to was owned my a man that does the hiring for entertainment at a very well known Theme Park. Then they {My sister and father} brought up me asking him about getting a gig at the park doing Mentalism. Of course that crossed my mind, too. BUT! I had had no idea that I could have been called upon to promote myself and maybe have to perform some strong Mentalism.
The whole thing was bugging me on the ride there. I was still in some of my workout clothes. I didn't bring a deck of cards or index cards or even buisness cards. If this guy would have said something like "Well, let's see what you can do." or "Read my mind" I would have to fall back on either Muscle Reading or a Hypnotrick like Hands stuck together.
Muscle Reading I think would have been nice -- but I'm just not that good at it yet. I just got Rick Maue's Imagine but this too I'm still working on.
Anyway, we got there. The man was very friendly but kinda drunk and I'm sorry to say, I never brought up my desire to perform Mentalism.

The Question: So, please everyone put yourself in my workout shoes. If you were in that situation w/ almost NOTHING on hand what Mentalism Tricks, routines or effects could you have done?

FYI: It's dark. Outside. No table. No chairs. No buisness cards. No paper. No pen. It's one on one. And the guy is a little drunk. What would you do?

I'd call him and say "Hi, this is Robert Valdemar, I met you the other day when I came with my sister to pick up the jumper. I am a professional mentalist/magician and would like to see if I can set up a time to discuss with you if you know of any opportunities.....". One thing to keep in mind is his job is to hire entertainment, you would be someone he should want to talk to in order to do his job.

Also be sure to let him know what it is that you can do for him,not just what you can do. First and foremost in his mind will be: "Oh, great! Just what I need, another stinking act. What can this guy do for me that someone else can't"

Even if he can't use you he can likely tell you who can. If you do have a show call him, if not don't.

Others here have pointed out some good information. It doesn't hurt to call him up and see what can happen.

As for me, if I was in your shoes, I probably would have done some psychological forces, then combined it with Stigmata. Always very effective.

Luke Jermays impromptu method of stopping a pulse would fit the bill here.

Call him up and ask if he enjoyed your impromptu mental effect, and if would he be interested in seeing more. Be prepared to explain what the effect was, and hope that he was drunk enough not to remember that you didn't do anything when you were there.

All the above advices are great. It's good to be prepared for all or any situations. We just don't know what would or could turn up.
