What are the best appearances for someone around 250 lbs?
Any videos? Must be quick. Budget is not really a big problem. Thanks Dave

The first one that comes to mind for me is the flash appearance/frame. It's got a fast "load in time," the revelation itself is very "magical" looking, and very accommodating for people of different sizes.

I've used a giant book in the past, built to produce Santas.

Try Creative Magic's Cube Squared. It can easily be done with someone that size.

This one may not be applicable here but a few years back I was asked to make a 285 lb man appear from an illusion that could be done surrounded. Here is a video. Forgive the poor quality of the video. It starts off a bit dark as the lighting guy was slow to hit the lights. LOL

Wow Tim, that looked GREAT!
Guess it wouldn't fit in my car though. |

Tim,
What an awesome illusion. The piece itself looks amazing. If you don't mind sharing with us who built or designed it, that would be great. -Beau

Thanks Mike,
I made a thinner version for myself later but its still a very heavy and awkward prop to travel with as the portal chamber is one big cabinet. Eventually I'll build one with a much smaller base so it will travel easier. Best, Tim |

I second the Book of Life idea. There is one for sale right now on Magic Auction, I believe.

Beautiful Prop! Very impressive.
If I had to haul something like around though, I'd make sure it did the entire show, got good milage to the next stop, prepare breakfast and make Milla Jojovich appear in between shows. :)

That one gig paid well so I kept that darn thing for a few years later hoping to get another " big guy" reveal. Eventually I decided to use the prop as a set piece for the Haunted Mansion project I do. I think the most practical and cost effective for 1 time deal would be creative magic cube squared it cost about $600. plan B would be a tip over trunk.
Thanks, Reynold |

A properly built shadowbox would be good. And probably be more amazing seeing more of the box would be filled and seem imposible (nothing personal)!
that's what id go with anyway! |

Simpler is usually a better way to go as long as its a decent illusion. Either of these or a Shadow Box like VideoKideo would be just fine. This complicated beast I built was at the client request. They wanted it to look like a technical wonder and not a magic illusion. Best, Tim |
