You're right Chris, but!...
A force is not the same as thinking of any card. "Aaron has provided us with a method to dribble the cards as Vernon suggested while visually forcing a card." That's fine, but that's not what the ad says. The ad says "any thought of card." And again!... You, me, and many others can read between the lines and know that the "thought of card" is actually a force, but newbys will not. They are buying the trick based on the thought that a spectator can "REALLY" think of "ANY" card and it appears on the camera. Which is not true, and is a form of hype. And it's not fair and not ethical. And RabbitInDaHat, just because people are blown away doesn't mean it's not hype. Just about every trick can blow people away. The hype comes from making people think that this is the only way to blow people away. Randi |

Ok...I take back my last line in my previous post.
I meant that I saw their reactions, and they were blown away. I agree that almost any trick (if done right) can blow people away. Sorry if I came across as confrontational.....that's not what I meant by my comment. |

Aaron is advertising the effect as a spectator would see it and describe it. Do you think a laymen can tell whether a thought of card is forced or not? A spectator REALLY can think of ANY card they want...they just don't know you're MAKING them think of it. The only difference is your perspective compared to the spectators and guess what...YOURS DOESN'T MATTER.

The thing that magicians forget is that forcing a card on a spectator and revealing it in a novel way IS inconceivable.
It also strikes me as funny to see Randi Rain talking about ehtics when she has a DVD that borrows heavily from other performers work. Prohibition and Lifesavers already pretty much covered her handling of cap in bottle. James Linn

We make our purchases based on the advert. I think it is time that these products are advertised as being described for magicians. I know I have purchased many effects that can not possibly be performed for the same spectators more then once. And the adverts never stated this. Many magicians do not have the luxury of different spectators at each performance. Phil |

Getting off the linguistics debate.......I've orderd this and look forward to setting up my phone. I am not too concerned that it may not be a pure "think of a card" effect. I like the unique revelation and really like that it works for more than 1 card. Think of all the great revelations out there that only "reveal" one card, effectively ruling out the opportunity to perform for overlap audiences. Ashes on arm is extremely effective, even though it is a "force card" effect and not a "think of a card" effect.
Looks like fun and something that will especially wow younger (15-30) audiences. Mike |

Yeah...I saw it performed live, bought it...had Aaron sign my copy, and then when I got home I realized my phone won't work
Kind of upset for 2 reasons.... 1) it's a great effect, and if done at the right time for the right people (like almost ALL effects) it is pretty killer. I really wish I was able to do it. 2) I'm out the $40 it cost to buy the DVD I don't feel like spending another $200+ dollars in getting a new phone that would work for this effect. |

I'm pretty sure I know how this effect works, and I would buy it if I had a cell phone that could work with it.
One thing that would be useful is to tell people how much storage could be required on their phone for the no-force version. I think it's pretty definite that not all phones with cameras could handle it, and people could be misled into buying the effect and then not being able to use it unless they always use a force. Perhaps once I catch up with the times I will check it out. I'm curious how Aaron handles the no-force version and the manipulation it will require before the reveal. |

I tell you what, it got me, I was looking for the force and boy I thought I got a NON forced card (refering to the Dai Vernon dribble mentioned earlier). This would be GREAT for street magic. Specially if your phone is compatable. Just like most effects, this would KILL when done in the right place at the right time.
Due to the technology of phones I could see this working on all phones in the next year... assuming everyone is upgrading and not holding on to their 'ZACH MORRIS' phone from 1999...
...for the 51st time... that is NOT my card...
