In the back of Simon Aronson's book, 'Try the impossible' there is a great trick where a borrowed finger ring links and unlinks from a rubber band. I also saw him perform it on his website and it looks great. The problem is that I simply cannot follow the instructions in the book and the photo's move too quickly. So my question is this, is there another source for learning this trick?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Try the above link. I don't own it so can't comment on it. If you get it though, can you let me know if it is any good? Smile

As an after thought, you could try Ring Leader by Greg Wilson. It's available on video from http://www.magicsmith.com

It's ring on string. Again, I don't own it so can't comment. I hear great things about it though.

You could always check out the Kalush "Rubber Ringer".

It's also a borrowed finger ring that links and unlinks cleanly from a rubberband.

Michael Ammar's Magic Book has a couple of versions of Ring on band. I use one of them at just about every table/Group I work to.

Actually my effect "The Joining" uses a different method than "Ring Leader."
Probably a little harder to learn but will allow you to show the ring freely sliding on the band.

Wilson's Ring Leader is a great video, but the routine is a ring & string routine, not a linking ring/rubberband as Arnson's illusion. I really like this effect, & it was some time before I understood the workings. Stick with it, & go through it slowly it may take a while, but you will understand it.

John Rogers has a version of this effect that I think is better than the Aronson effect. If you go to woodencigars.com you may be able to order his lecture notes which contain the effect. If you don't see them, I'm sure his e-mail address is on the website, just send him an e-mail requesting the lecture notes that contain his ring and rubberband routine. They are well worth the money.
