This is a personal choice, but for just having fun with people this is good. I think when you get your hands on one of the better ones you would agree with most everyone else's thoughts on this. It is like having a Hyundai verses a BMW. There is a big difference, In no way was implying that you did not know the difference between crap and high quality things. The whole point to this was that this gimmick is not as good as the more expensive ones. This is a killer gimmick that is now being re popularized and it is a lot of fun, I have been using this gimmick since 2001 and there is so much more to it than the Digital Dissolve. Digital Dissolve is a good routine and its nice to see that the gimmick is going out with such a nice routine. Sickmagic |

This is probably obvious to the experienced here, but the move used got me thinking that I could use it to secrete a folded bill with a silver dollar.

I really don't know how anyone could be disappointed with this "package".
The gimmicks are perfectly fine (though maybe not on par with "custom work"). But the DVD production value is first rate. The effect is great and the instructions are certainly adequate. For all this, the price is ridiculously small, great work "Theory 11"! Sean |

Ok. Good. I think we are on the same page.
I love great props but sometimes that is more for me than for the effect. Heck, Ramsay did Coins and Cylinder with a cardboard tube. Digital dissolve is a great way to get a great idea into people's hands for a small price. I would love to learn more about the Gimmick and what it can do. Cheers

I have had and used all three gimmicks, the original Slippery Sam, a custom made set by Todd Lassen and, now, Digital Dissolve. They were all nice. The original had a small paper label on the inside of the gimmick to minimize friction, the Lassen model had nothing and, frankly, didn't need it, and the Dissolve model has the now-trendy Teflon disk. I think the bare model worked just as smoothly and quietly as the other two.
All three models suffered from being visible. I did the effect a lot and often people thought the half dollar looked strange at the beginning. When I saw it demo-ed for me before I knew what it was, I also noticed the silver coin looked a little odd until it was handed to me for examination. I don't want to say any more because I don't want to tip anything to those who don't know it. Anyway, I changed the handling to completely eliminate this possibility. If you watch the "one-handed" technique on the DVD, apply it to holding both coins, palm up, at the start. The copper overlaps the silver and the fingertips, thus hiding the weak point. Show both sides of BOTH coins at the same time, using the move, then turn the hand palm up again. Now, do the move again and with the hand palm down, take the copper coin into the left hand, still at the fingertips of the now palm down hand. Then turn both hands palm up again and do the move showing the other sides again, and immediately, as part of the display, putting the copper back onto the silver. Now, put the coins in the spectators hand and continue. Done this way, it doesn't look like an unusual handling and the "work" never even remotely shows. The only question I have is that there are so many young magicians up and coming that I can't keep up with them. So, with all due respect, is there really a B.J. Bueno? Is the name a joke? Do you realize how that translates to from Spanish? I have not heard of him before this and it kind of reminds me of when I was very young and didn't believe there was really such a person as Carmen D'Amico. I thought he was an Ed Marlo "pen name." Then I met him and he was defintely for real, so I'm probably wrong here, too. Just curious. |

Hi John (et al),
I can attest that there really is a B.J. Bueno. He showed me his routine a number of years ago, and I was impressed with it. I am a little saddened that they advertise this as B.J. Bueno's routine without any credit to Steve Dusheck in the advertising or title. There is B.J.'s handling of Steve's effect. It is more distressing that Steve was not contacted prior to marketing for his permission. The gimmick is most certainly Steve's. I have known him a long time, and he is one of the most original thinkers in magic, as well as one of the most generous guys. He developed the gimmick in the late '60s and predated Fulves and Guitar. I think Theory 11 owes Steve Dusheck a very public apology for this blunder. Marc DeSouza |

Oh, BTW, B.J.'s handling points and Lee and Aaron's move are very good additions to the basic transposition.

Hey John, I've spoke to BJ on the phone about this, so he is real. He also told me. "digital dissolve is nothing like duscheck's routine." ...His words.
I wanted to thank you for the handling you suggested I'm sitting here toying with it and I will be using it. Quote:

I think the fancy ones draw too much importance on the cylinder, making it a "something" instead of a "nothing" that it is and should be perceived. I think it makes the effect go better, and it's my theory to why some have trouble with it. Sorry for the off topic remark. =) |

Is it possible to get this trick with euro coins? its always a pain performing gaffed coin magic with foreign coins. they are automatically suspicous and since the euro exists in many many countries already I hope the magic community will recognzie it more and produce euros as well for their tricks!!!

I believe the reason for the price increase is they reworked the gimmick plus you a bonus digital manuscript by Steve Dusheck. And the manuscript is absolutely killer.

I purchased this at the beginning; however, T11 send out Steve Dusheck's manuscript free to the folks that bought this. I'm very happy with T11's commitment to their customers..
