I'm going to give a quick review here, nothing special.

Packet Tricks Book

Price: $7.44
Effects: 17
Quality: Good
Buy it: Here

This is a compilation of packet tricks that have been published over time. Some big names in magic contributed to it, like Roy Walton and Peter Kane.

Ok so what you get is a paper back booklet with 17 packet tricks in it. I opened it up and realized that some of these are actually pretty good. I read through these and found one that caught my eye was Peter Kane's Jazz Aces. Another that caught my eye was an effect called Twist. It is by a fellow by the name of Vic Trabucco. The reason this caught my eye was it is the EXACT same effect as an effect sold on Penguin for almost 10 dollars as an instant download. The effect in question being Revolver. So in buying this book, I just saved 2 dollars to learn that effect. I also learned Jazz Aces, which I already knew but that's besides the point.

Anyway, if you like packet tricks then this is the book for you. You won't learn any counts, they expect you to know how, but you will learn some visual packet tricks, most of which require no special cards and can be done impromptu.

One sleight that is taught in it is a 5 card Asciano Spread, which I never thought of doing before.

There is a quick review of a very inexpensive booklet that I will be learning some good stuff out of.

Oh and for those who think this book stole Revolver from Penguin, it was the other way around. This book was printed in 1983, and I'm sure Twist was written long before that.
