I have a 'budget' one from 'The Trickery' which is ok, but the blood mechanism is not good, and the knife can't be flashed both sides.
I also have the Parx knife which is good, and bleeds exceptionally well; on stage this really gets great reactions (my father watched me do this, and later he confessed that he'd thought it had gone wrong, I drew so much blood!). Close up it can't be examined. Finally, for close-up I use the Zoran's 'Horror finger knife' - this is really unsetlling! There's something worse about a small craft knife slipping halfway through your index finger. I've also used this as a 'pseudo-hypnosis' effect on spectator's finger - it pinches enough, and leaves a deep physical impression on the finger, so that after its withdrawn you can perform a 'healing' most effectively. The Zoran knife 'bleeds' the best too. With some simple misdirection, you can hand out the knife for examination afterwards too. Highly recommended.
