Anyone have any idea how to get or make an old style carpet bag? I realize this may not be EXACTLY the right place to post, but figure this gang might know better than anyone else.

I want to put together a nice 45 muinute long birthday show, all out of a large carpet bag (gladstone style if that means anything) but they are nerly impossible to find and when you can they are a fortune and still too small. I am handy with sewing and construction, so if I can get an idea of how they are made, I can probably fabricate the hardware in the size I need. Someone said that someone has an act like that on DVD or somthing with instructions on how to make the bag, but no luck finding such a think yet.

If you can help, that would be great. I did a search, but turned up nothing of this nature.

A carpet bag is typically what is called a Gladston bag or Kit bag that is, indeed, made of carpet. Some argue that the term gladstone bag is misused here.

Basically, think of the old fashion snake oil salesman or old style doctor's bag, bigger and made of carpet.
