Any recommendations for 1-on-1 type effects or resources?
Thanks |

Most good mentalism effects can be performed 1-on-1.
Are you looking for a specific situation? |

Thanks Tone,
I don’t mind a little set-up, as long as it does not involve a gimmick. For some reason, I find routines that use several participants usually play the best (4DT, Sneak Thief, Watch Routines…) I often find myself in front of just one person who wants to see something. I’m pretty comfortable creating something on the spot with whatever I have, but I guess I’m asking if there are any classics that were designed for these situations. |

I love the stealth assassin wallet for this situation.

I’ve been debating the SAW for a while now. Let me ask you this – If you are comfortable P**k**G and S******NG business cards, then is this really worth $180? A lot can happen with $180
Thanks |

I'm too modest to mention my own Image Grabber but I will say that there are many many impressive card mentalism effects that work great 1 on 1, especially using Osterlind's Breakthrough Card System.

I have seen your image grabber a while back and it looks great. To be honest with you, I think I might be getting this soon.
Thanks |

There's millions of things you can do...tarot effects, esp, pendulums, as s.j. lea says, plenty of card work that doesn't look like card work can be done...
imp envelopes, I.D. work, just about anything really with the right patter and dressing...
I've asked to be banned

The bulk of the routines on Nardi and Spellman's "Unexpected" are, IMHO, wonderful for 1-on-1 mentalism, particularly for someone fairly new to mentalism.

I know someone mentioned Outlaw in general, but let me emphasize what a wonderful 1-1 effect Sanctuary is. Good for a few folks too, but it can be insanely intense for one person.

And again from Outlaw, one of the other great products is KIOKU. This effect really can blow people away and not a word is spoken. Marvelous concept.

AND... while on the subject of Outlaw, "Reflections" is a one-on-one beauty, with multiple revelations, that sits comfortably in your pocket. As does another of Outlaw's great one-on-one utility devices, Son of Mindscan.

Bushido,
If you are completely comfortable with the techniques you mentioned above, you need nothing else. Ted L |

Admittedly, for an audience of one while seated at a table, it would be an easy thing to execute a billet switch owing to the likely simplicity of misdirecting only one participants pair of eyes.
The reason I personally opt for SAW is that it allows for peek work, multiple outs (their short list effect is wonderful), out to lunch, and even as a hold out. Also useful, with practice, for loading billets and pocket writing. It's a work horse. |
