" EYES OF THE DEAD "
It is said was believed that Chiron; the ferryman who takes the dead to the other side, was to be given a coin for payment of passage. A coin was often placed into the mouth of the deceased to insure his journey in ancient times. Fast forward to more recent times, not many decades now removed. Coins were placed on the eyelids of the dead. To keep them closed. The eyes of a cadaver are not pleasing to look into. I have one with me, in this jar, if you doubt its repulsiveness. I find it ironic that coins should play these roles, since greed and money lead to the death of many a man. In their quest for riches in life, they kept their eyes on the prize. The dead, it's claimed, often do not realize they have passed away. I wonder if the eyes of the dead are still drawn to the prize? A half dollar is passed in front of the jar. The gaze of the eye submersed in liquid slowly follows. You will require a Higley All Seeing Eye and a magnetic half. Or secret a disc neodynieum magnet to the reverse side of a borrowed half. |

Three of Kotah's Original Stories are included with the Eye (plus other stuff)
Since Ron snuck this one in on me, I didn't get a chance to add a tiny bit of 'direction' that might help in the delivery and a slight word change...Here is the routine as it will be offered with the Eye...for now those with a Demented Eye just take this edited version from here... ----------------------------------------------------------- " EYES OF THE DEAD " It is said it was believed that Chiron; the ferryman who takes the dead to the other side, was to be given a coin for payment of passage. Thanks to Ron Dayton for his usual keen EYE in writing little stories. He is the best. Others: It is preferred if you have a story idea for the Higley's Demented Eye, that you email me before letting it out in the wild. Cool!

BTW: The 10 'Eyes' that are being shipped today (and those in the future) will include this new Kotah story in the Instruction/Routine sheets.
Might as well take this moment to thank the many who have ordered and commented about the Eye...it's a FUN prop and there has been 100% acceptance which makes me feel pretty good. The included stories are brief and are all about the legnth of the one above...there is a tasty tale of a Chinese Cook (Eye comes in a Wire Handle Take Out box)...a story of Pirate Demise...a Shark Attack...and the new one above. Have fun!

A new short routine for the Higley Eye has been sent to Doug for tweaking, rather than sneaking it under the radar here. Will the phantom of the Midway like it?
Who knows what he likes? PS: THe name of the story is "The Inheritance" |

Thanks for sharing a great-short-pointed bit of bizarre scripting with us! I love it!
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

Just a note...thanks to Kotah I have enough short story bits for the Eye. 4 are enough to routine that type of presentation...the rest you can come with on your own IF you want to, what is supplied with the Eye handles most situations.
I like the one above (use my edited version as it is supplied now with the Eye) as it integrates with a Half Dollar and becomes an 'effect' withing a coin routine. So if you have little stories, keep them for your self (eMail if you want to) but if you have routine ideas for existing tricks (like with the Half or other PK props) or enhancements to a persentation, I'd really like to hear them. I did notice yesterday that when geting the Eyes ready to ship I happened to be holding one of the *things* that are used inside the Eye and not a PK Ring... the power was 4.5 and it affected the Eye at a greater distance than a Ring would/does and THAT opens up all kinds of goodies that can be done IF the *thing* you are using to trigger the Eye is much more powerful than a ring. It virtually had the Eye spinning at high speed! Freaky! Doug
