Is this guy still around much these days? He must be getting old! Is he still making appearances in your shows on a regular basis? He's trying to get in my act. Sooo, I need to ask, what is the best training DVD related to this little furry guy?

I use him in all my kids shows and some adult shows as well. I have the raccoon, the fox, and the skunk. They are always a hit.

For a recommended DVD, check out 'David Williamson Raccoon Lecture,' available from many online magic retailers.

Product Description: David presents 30 minutes of sheer brilliance. Performing and explaining five of his pet effects. Included is an excellent version of the "Three Card Repeat" routined for the children's entertainer. Finally he presents his own raccoon routine and explanation including all the extra moves you would only dream about.

Yes, I use "Bob" as well as Rose my Skunk.

Has anyone used the small Rat Spring Puppet? It is (I am told) about 1/2 foot long.

If you put Rocky (squeezed small) in the middle of a silk, bringing the ends of the silk together, and bulldog-clipping the ends of the silk, he makes a great production item.

I've used the skunk and produced him from a hat (ala Eric Sharpe's load method) and produced him as a rabbit saying "Do rabbits have a stripe?" before bringing the skunk out.

I have used both the raccoon and the skunk. The skunk is still a part of most every show I do.

I'm seeing a lot of people seem to also use the skunk. Which do y'all like better, the skunk or the raccoon? In terms of quality and size, are they the same? Assuming qualitya and size are the same, then primary differences would be the types of gags that would work with a skunk vs. a raccoon, is that right?

He makes his appearance from my large dove pan. I act like I am making a cake and he comes out instead!

There is a clip of me using Norman the raccoon at the end of this video:

You can see the production box I use with him and his motorised finale.

Got my skunk at Magic Masters. They fetch a premium over the others, though, because (I believe) there's more involved in selecting and dyeing the fur.

Great ideas from the others! Haven't used skunk yet, but Rocky goes almost everywhere I do.

I have noticed that the Rocky seemed less stiff than skunk when new.

I apologize, but it's been so long I have forgotten. Mine is the type with real rabbit fur, and it is very well-made. If I can think of where I got him I'll post it.

I got my skunk on Ebay.

Bob the racoon was a hit again at an Adult Bible School's Annual Dinner.

I love props that can be used in a wide range of venues.

Newest bit for the Skunk..

I got mine from a local magic shop in Columbia, SC. It too was much more expensive than the raccoon - but well worth it! Skunks get a great reaction. Mine is named "Stinky" - not very original, but it always gets a laugh.

Okay... I'm now the proud new owner of "stinky" the skunk. That is Chad, assuming you don't mind me stealing your skunk's name.

I am sure it is not original to me - it is a fairly common name for skunks!
