I was going thru my old files and I stumbled upon this old favorite and most requested routine we fondly call "The Boss' Poker Deal" . This has been a regular routine whenever I do lectures in Manila, especially in the break ot sessions. I have had the privilege of performing this for magicians and card players around the world. I thought I would share something with cards again for a change. I enjoy performing this. I only perform this using a borrowed deck. I think this is the strength of this routine. I hope you find something useful here, and I hope you enjoy it as well.

Rannie, again you demonstrate just why you are called The Boss.
That is a great routine that will be great for "laymen", people have asked me to what you did. I thought it was impossible...until now. Thank you for sharing this. Your friend, Tom

Now this is slick! Very well done rannie. I don't know how you do this but you do it very well, as usual. Great job man but the real "strength" of the routine is the ever-creative mind of The Boss. Cards, coins, cups...nothing is safe.

I can still remember when this was performed live. This is a clip from not so long ago. As with other props, the Boss seems effortless in performing with cards. The first time the Boss invited me to his place, he showed me another poker deal. I shuffled the deck, and he proceeded straight into dealing himself the winning hand. Amazing.
imagine the possibilities... endless...

Rannie,
How often does the spectator pick a full house with the second hand winning? (Or did I just stumble on the secrete and the magician needs to put the spectator in a hypnotic state by staring into their eyes and suggesting full house second hand… full house second hand … full house second hand.) Very entertaining. Thanks for sharing, John |

Thank you gentlemen! Somewhere in the late 80s I had a strong fascination with gambling moves and had the opportunity to meet some real card cheats or "Ek-Eks" as they are called in my native slang. They are regular people who just want to get by and make a living. Very nice people actually. NOW the handling I just did will get a bullet on your head but in a gambling demonstration.... it would make sense. I always tell the audience that if I were to cheat... I would have to memorize the deck so I would know the exact position of every card then by using some "sophisticated" shuffling tech...LOL, and some weird second and center deals...I can deal anything they want. The times I spent watching and learning fronm the "Ek-Eks" paved the way for what I now call "SCULLING" or stacking and shuffling. This has changed over the years. The clip was from 2004 0r 2005.
What makes this work is the fact that the deck is borrowed, shuffled, "memorized", "Mixed up again" and in the end the spectator can name which player will win. He can even deal the cards himself. Put together.... they almost forget the time it took. Well....it wouyld take much much longer for someone who doesn't know sculling....4 times longer or more. I truly hope you enjoyed it and perhaps spark something new with it. Cheers from Manila! Rannie

Coins, cards and La Conga...is their anything that starts with a C that you cannot continue to charm and entertain us with my friend?
Rannie, as you continue to treat us with your performances I continue to be humbled as not only a friend you've never met but a spectator that has been cheerfully introduced to your magic and persona. Thank you for consistently bringing out in me the joy of being a spectator over and over again. You have a big fan in Florida! peace, charlie |

Why you did not show that to me in Hong Kong?
