Does anyone know how to deactivate them. I have a few coming from a lot on Ebay.

The seller didn't know if they were still activated. To test I guess I need to go to a store where I know the owner??? Any other way to test if they are activated?

Thanks in advance. These will be coming with the pin (round button) separated from the longer part. I don't know if that makes a difference.

I plan on using them for a sight gag as well as including them in a load at the end of a production routine.

Try getting a store to de-activate them for you. You'll probably have to show them a trick, so take something along.

These do lead to all kinds of fun possibilities.

Mark.

Most of them are simply magnetic tape or similar substance, and the deactivators are nothing more than a bulk tape eraser.

Sounds like a large PK might do the "trick"?

To be honest, Harris, I don't really know if bulk tape erasers are magnetizers or demagnetizers. Either way would erase a tape. I believe they are strong electromagnets. Last time I owned one, I used it to erase bulk numbers of old 5.25 inch floppy disks, and the instructions said not to wear an analog watch when using it as it would ruin the watch. I'm not familiar with how strong a field is generated by a pk ring.

I don't have the ring but somewhere have a huge PK block.

So many toys, so little memory to find them.
