We have a winner. Smithpaul80 has come up with the correct answer through rigorous research and analysis. Please PM me with your name and address, and I'll send you your Chinese coins.
The Queen of Hearts in the window is the main character in the card effect "Kingdom of the Red" in Chapter 11. She is not a clue regarding the castle. There is no monk. In the foliage on the upper left are three letters written in a green font similar to the black KOTR below the middle tower. The letters are ABC, and they have a dual meaning. Chapter 1 begins with Alignment of Colors at Montauk Point (A), Chapter 2 is Binary Predictions (B), and Chapter 26 is Zero Sum Game (Z). The 26 chapters are in alphabetical order, A-Z with one unique letter for each of the first 26 chapters. Chapters 27 and 28 are bonus chapters and start with the letters A and B respectively. The ABC also stands for "After Belvedere Castle". The moat is the Turtle Pond. Belvedere Castle is in NYC within Manhattan's Central Park. The cover art was created from a photo I took of the castle across from the Turtle Pond. The digital photo was processed in Photoshop Elements, removing people, flags and other objects. I added two more towers, and altered the windows to make them stand out more, added pennants, etc. The photo was converted to a sketch style, and a lot of smoothing and other effects were added. The ABC was added at the end. Along the lower left corner are my initials (LB) in an even smaller font. The back cover photo was taken at sea near sunset during a cruise from Venice. Thanks to all who participated in this contest. There were many remarkable submissions. Larry |

I spent all day looking for this, and I overlooked Belvedere Castle by one link!!! I knew it was in New York once I read he was there and must have looked at about 50 or so different castles in the area. Congratulations, SmithPaul, you have a keener eye than I!!!
On a side note, I now want this book. After staring at the cover all day, I feel it is a part of me now. LOL Thanks for the time-killer today, Larry. I didn't have anything to do anyway. |

Well done, Smithpaul. I had no idea there were any castles in New York.

Ahhh, I finally see the ABC. That was well hidden.
If that figure at the bottom right of the leftmost tower is not a monk, what is it? A part of the castle?
The real magic is family!

The figure that looks like a monk is just part of the castle structure.
If you visit NYC, you must go to Central Park, the first public park built in the US. I've traveled all over the world, and IMO, you won't see a more beautiful and complex park than this. It's run by a non-profit organization, The Central Park Conservancy. And right on it's east side border is one of the greatest art museums in the world, The Metropolitan Museum of Art. http://www.centralparknyc.org/site/PageServer Larry |
