During that time I played in a band and we were all amazed how skillfully he played such a simple song. We knew he could play songs that that required so much more skill but we didn't care at that time. We just had fun and enjoyed his set. Hi name was Carlos Santana and this was back in the 80's. I get it. You don't want to do this effect. It not a effect that fits your performance style. Good. More people should be aware of what fits and what doesn't their own style of performance. If what you say is true then maybe I should reconsider some of the effects kids and families enjoy so much (Needle Thru Balloon for example). I respect those who have been performing magic longer than I and I will never stop learning from others - such as yourself. Theo

Personally I love pro cheers, but the set up has always been one of my pet peev's eg: find a spare room to do the setup,or at worst a toilet cubicle(yuck).Even though I have come up with a loading sleave to hold the coils in place whilst loading the belt (and for transport)I still quite often exclude this effect from my show.
Is it just me or does anybody else feel the same about it? ps:After watching Tommy Cooper's version(thanks for the link Spell binder) I may need to sctrach this itch once more. To coil or not to coil ,that is the question.lol

Years ago I had a seamstress make a zipper front undergarment vest with vertical tubes sewn on the backto hold the pleated loops of rope. The ropr fed out free of tangles thanks to this arrangement. A coat hanher wire bent like a long button hook permitted the rope to be inserted into its individual tube. Once loaded at home the best was put on nd your shirt c coat etc over it. ENds of the rope fed down the legs og your trowswrs. I used elastic bands rather than my socks to hold them in place.
This vest was my own idea. It was a variation of a method I had read about it. The original was a square of cloth with tubes sewn to hold the pleated coils of rope. THis square was pinned to the back of your under shirt. I also had not purchased PC, but figured it out for myself and made my own. Kotah It was a spectacular 25 feet in length and ended with panty hose rather than colorful boxer shorts for the finale. Joe Namath was doing his famous panty hose commercial, and I claimed I learned the trick from Broadway Joe. |
