Would anyone who has watched the Jason Alexander interview on "Reel Magic" know what the name of the routine is called where he guesses which hand the spectator is holding the coin? If someone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

I was PMed the answer by one of the Café members. (Thank you!) For anyone who is curious, it is Charles Gauci's "Eye to Eye". Jason Alexander really made this an entertaining effect. If you haven't seen the interview on Reel Magic, it's worth checking out.

Thanks, Jered. I hadn't seen Jason perform the effect and had been trying to think of what it might be. "Eye To Eye" is a good effect. Make sure to read the reviews here on the Café for some safety suggestions.

I was thinking it might have been an effect where you have someone place something in their hand, unknown to you, and to raise that hand over their head for all to see. Then, they lower their hand, you turn around and immediately tell them the hand holding the object. Has to do with blood flow and skin tone.

I thought this was no longer available? Also, how much different would this be from "Relic" by Outlaw?

Here are a couple of links to get you started. The first one is Charles Gauci's website. The second is just one of several which have Eye to Eye for sale.

Eye to Eye is available from a few different websites. Unfortunately I am not familiar with Relic, so I can't comment on the differences.

I took this right off of the Stevens website and yes Jason Alexander used an old coin.

Spectator hides medallion in either hand and performer successfully guesses which hand is holding the medallion. 100% NO MISS Can be performed anywhere, any time. No palming, nothing to hide in fact you can do it in your bathers. This was a hit item in Charles' recent US tour having sold over 900. Emulate the Derren Brown effect with minimal practice.

Looks like Charles Gauci has changed the items used in "Eye To Eye" from using a ball, which is how I originally saw it performed several years ago, to a coin.

Personally, I think the coin would look better and make more sense (not cents!) because magicians are always using cards and coins in their effects.

Based upon his recent lecture, the "coin" is a medallion referred to as a "coin". Audience management and all that...
