So I am working a trade-show for a company that does relocation ((kind of a high end moving company) and their give-away is a rubik's cube. I have "The Enchanted Cube" by Craig Nichols and I think DARYL has the same or similar cube on the market. But I am hoping to come up with some more magic with the Rubik's Cube. Does anyone have any input on routines or ideas to put this puzzle to work in a magic routine?

Garrett Thomas has the ultimate rubick's cube trick. I have not seen any other, but his effect will drop your jaw.

Hi Al, The only thing I have been able to find in the way of videos from Garrett Thomas and the Rubik's Cube involve demostration only of him solving it. Any pointers on where to find the routine you mentioned?

I spoke to Garrett recently since yet another thread about his routine has popped up here on the Café, and he has authorized me to say:
The value of a trick is in its uniqueness. If he released the Speed Cube routine, everyone will begin doing it and then it will lose everything that is so special about it. What he has done is taken all of the known principles of the Rubik's Cube including speed solving, multiple moves, etc, and combined them together to create something magical. Having said that, he plans to keep it to himself for a while. In the meantime he suggests that anyone can play around with the Enchanted Cube and some of the other cube effects that are out there. My personal advice is to sit down and study the cube. Learn everything about it, absolutely inside and out. See where it takes you from there. |

I saw him do it at his lecture, and he led me to believe that if you knew how to solve the cube that he would teach you his trick. Apparently he did not expect to have any takers.

Joseph Young has been doing magic with rubik's cubes for years. He takes great pride in his rubik's cubes. He's a member here and can also be found at:
