Does anyone know where I can find the trick that uses a broken beer bottle and three paper bags - (bottle is placed under one of the bags then magician smashes each bag hoping not to smash the one containing the broken bottle.) I want to obtain the gimmick or buy the trick but I don't know what name it goes by. Thanks

Yep. Check out the "Midnight Show" DVD by Scott Alexander to see the "Shattered" effect. It's a great DVD.

Nielsen Magic out of Las Vegas sells the effect. I own it and it is excellent. Thankfully, it isn't cheap.

This is agreat trick (shattered)is the name it will cost arround 250 $ but from your post you seem like starting .. if so I wouldn t recomend this one you need to have the experience and skill to be able to sell it if you think so go for it recomended only for performers with personality.

On youtube I saw a segment called "When Magic Goes Bad" and there were a couple of short clips of this effect. The first one the magician impaled his hand and in the other the magician took the hand of the spectator and impaled her hand. I don't know if these were faked or real but I would say research the effect and practice, practice and practice some more. Good luck and even though I'm new here I welcome you to the forum.

Thank god... those were faked,
if done as built by Norm, it is very, very safe.
And with the correct theatrical build-up and play, effective!

I recently bought it from Nielsen Magic, and did it last night for the first time before an audience. I used it as the closer, and it was great. I highly recommend it!

Actually, those are real. Atleast there is one video of real performances.

How ever, with the version in question, this is just not possible.

I won't forget you Robert.
