Greetings,
I recently have been wanting to learn David Roth' "Tuning Fork" routine, but have been having quite a bit of touble locating the proper tuning fork. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get a tuning fork with a long handle? Any help will be appreciated!! Thanks in advance.... ~Ron |

Check with your local guitar (music) store. They should have one.

Mark,
I tried all my local stores as well as a Musician's Friend retail store with no luck. Thanks though.... |

Try a college book store where nursing is taught. Medical supply stores are also good to check for these. (They are sometimes used in giving a physical.)

You can buy them all over the web. Guitar Center has them. They're also used by the scientific community.

All of the tuning forks that I have come across that are available either in stores or on the web have a really small handle. I am looking fork one that has a large handle to grip.

Look into precision lab instrument companies. That type of fork is generally used in research labs. Only other place I've seen long handle used is in tuning police radar units. Wouldn't recommend you try to go and rip off one of those though.

Thanks for the help!! If in my travels I come across one with a longer handle I will be sure to let you know. Until then I will continue to use the one I have that is very similar to the one found in music stores. Thanks again for all the help!!

There are likely thousands of them hidden away in piano benches all over the country. But if spending money excites you, medical supply firms sell them.
tuning forks is one. Ask for the long handled ones. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Check violin shops.. They generally need a longer handle with a ball at the end.

Hey guys.
David Roth will be performing and teaching the tuning fork routine, a closer of his show for many years, this Monday at Denny and Lee's. I've discussed the lecture here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=3&3 I hope to see you guys there! Ben
