Oh darn, I sleeved my S[...l and it dropped on the floor. Now it doesn't fit my half dollars, they simply sit to tight. I know I have to bend something but its a delicate piece of silverware and quite expensive too.
I want to do this right. Any recommendations , please PM |

By hard surface Pod means marble or similar, Concrete dosen't do so well. Neither does my table top.

I would try straightening the bent edge against a smaller coin. Or try forcing the regular coin in it covered with a thin piece of cloth. This may help stretch it and the cloth allows you to extract the coin from the sh---. If all fails, at least they make nice molds for chocolate coins.

I did the same thing in Dean Dill's shop a few months ago. He took a folded handkerchief and put it inside the shell with the coin on top and snapped it into place. From there, just pop it out a few times. It should reexpand the area that was dented.
Yes, that is my real name. Yes, I am a real person. No, you probably won't agree with me.

Thanks a lot for all your strong advice. Now I can put my pliers and tools back in the box. I'll try the hard surface and handkerchief Idea's.
Jonathan? Did you imply that there should be a different and better method in bobo's? Thanks again. Jan |

The strategy for using a handkerchief or even a dollar bill to wedge between the [ gaff and its insert is there in Bobo's. It's in the context of a nice trick with a handkerchief and there are hundreds of other bits of great advice in that book to enjoy as well.
