The best one I have seen is sold by John Reid at Cresey Products. They are in limited supply but they have almost nothing to see on the glass.

I did see the one that John had last May again at SAM and Abbott's. It is good. I just don't have the need for one to sit on the shelf.

The original uses dangerous chemicals, the last dealer I know sold this version was the defunct company 'Magic Hands' out of Germany. It was also explained in an old special issue in the 1960's in Science Magazine, this was an all Magic issue, that was on news stands and magazine racks.
Cameron Academy has a VHS video Cabaret Lecture Video - Mehdi Talbi This tells a different method for the Smoke in Glass, but you need to find the chemicals yourself. Vito Lupo made and sold his version some years back and I have spoke to him at a convention, he does not plan to make them any longer. All have some draw back at set up and presentation. All are dangerous to work with, I hope you are 18 years old or older. If you smoke cigarettes, stop! This trick requires the smoking of cigarettes. There is also a gimmick that is required for the 'Smoking a Thumb' effect, that is part of Fred Kaps routine. |

I just recently bought the "Smoke Glass" from my good friend Mark Schock at bob littles this past weekend and I've got to tell you its one of the best smoke glasses you will ever see listen to Scott and Richard they know their stuff! What I like about is that it can be performed under any conditions and its all self contained you don't have to were any big packs or tubes on your person
Heres marks email if anyone is interested Mark@asylumofmagic.com -T.J. Tana |

Clearly, Hydrochloric acid is something not to mess with. It cannot be handled with your hands.

Bruce Elliot covers this as " The two corncob pipes" in one of the greatest magic books ever written: " Classic Secrets of Magic" . The same two chemicals are used on different surfaces. Every routine in this book is usable!
