Has this been done before? I was playing it todat with the thought that it would make a great out for a copper/silver routine. If you have 2 regular coins (a copper and a silver) just tell them you use a 2 sided coin while doing a mex-turn and let them figure it out.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here Smithpaul. Can you give me an idea of what a Mexican turnover is.....?

This sounds like a combination to Roth's "Scoop Addunder" and Latta's "One Hand Turnover Switch".
There are turnover switches that are similar. |

I think it would look very unnatural to use the regular mexican turnover handling with coins. Why would you ever use one coin to turn over another?
On the other hand, Geoff Latta's one hand turnover is about as close to a "natual looking" mexican turnover type move as you're going to get. just my humble opinion

After this post I think that Mfeld is right and I'll look at Latta's move
JT I want to have a silver coin on the table and show the othe side as copper, but actually do a switch. I was just over thinking it. |

I'm doing it to "out" the idea that I have a copper/silver coin. The audience may come up with the idea of a c/s on their own so...
italics = spoken (i have a silver coin on the table w/ copper coin in FP) I do have a special coin. It has silver on one side and (perform the switch) copper on the other. (I now have the silver coin in FP and the copper coin on the table.) Let them look at this neat coin and find out it is compleatly copper. |

I was hoping you were going to go the other way, where you have a copper in your hand and use the move to make the exchange in the course of chaning the tabled silver coin to copper with just a tap

I've used this idea for about 30 years now. I have two silvers showing in my left hand. The one at the fingertips is the C/S. I perform the Mexican turnover twice with the regular copper classic palmed in the RT hand, then go into Presto Chango. |

Lol same here (about 30 years) but the important thing is that it's NOT to show the other side of the coin.
Motivation counts hugely in this stuff.

I just saw Dave perform a wild coin routine with this move in it. It was very motivated and if I didn't know what the move was, I would have no idea that he did anything at all. In fact, I'm sure he's fooled me with it a bunch of times without me knowing. He tends to do that a lot, he's got a problem.

I kenw it had to be out there, and if anyone would have it, it would be JT and David. (both of whom I hold in high respect). JT I mean it to be a tounge in cheek thing for just the right spec. I don't plan on it being a part of the routine. Just to throw some one off like Jaz mentions. (it's a special coin, no wait it's not...oh. never mind.) David, is this the wild coin routine in your lecture notes? I have got to get those!!! |
