So, is it one more night? They made the announcement last night that the people remaining will be the finalists. If they perform next week, we could wrap up the show the following week. A 5-week series, that is quick.

After 41 pages of (for the most part) absolute nonsensical, 'yes we can communicate with the dead so that they can come back and tell us what toy was locked in a box (can't get more significant then that)', insane posts the pheeenom Jim Callahan is voted off- finally the American public comes through, YEAAA! Not knowing (prior to last night's show)how the paint ball bit was done, thanks to Gerry now I know, thanks for tipping it on national TV(unbelievable bad form)- the babe with the burn tattoo please see Jim Callahan for some acting lessons (pitiful)- OK, we've got to give this show points for having basically the Becker Russian Roulette (best done still by Larry and poorly and less entertainingly by others) routine with different props repeated ad nauseum (nail gun; dagger under bag, acid in glass,...)Oh well hopefully it will all be over soon- pretty lame, IMHO.

The key demo is the 18-49 and at 2.2, its as bad as "Cavemen"
And cavemen is truly, truly bad. |

I just watched the entire show and the only one who I found entertaining was that Mike Super. His delivery was polished. The girl was cute but that was about it. The rest rather pedestrian......

I thought the Cows were good. Suspicious, but good.

I'm developing a real fondness for cows and I think they should be on stage. Here you go mentalist, a routine I came up with. Cows go onto a traditional cow grid and you then show you predicted where it would plop....you can't control the darn cow so it would be really cool. There is already enough plop going on on the show, why not use cows?

>>From what I saw, Jim employed none of these specific procedures, which as can be surmized, would lead to the logical conclusion that this was, after all, a very elegant theatrical performance.
>>On the other hand, Jim -- and I do apologize if you've never actually claimed any of this to be real -- if what you do is more than a performance, if in fact it is truly authentic communication with discarnate entities beyond the so-called 'veil', then by all means, I invite you to evoke a spirit to visible appearance using the traditional implements of the Arte Magickal. Maleficia: very interesting...it brings to mind: what was the statement that Madame Blavatsky made? Something to the effect of - Unless one's intentions are entirely pure, the communication with the dead will tend to cause intense psychological difficulties, paranoia, even madness. And it says in Deuteronomy that it is a sin to conjure spirits, but I am not one to judge.

Real psychics can tell the first letter of a name and that their death involved the chest or head....alienating those who died from leg and arm injuries.

And it says in Deuteronomy that it is a sin to conjure spirits, but I am not one to judge." Hi John, Blavatsky was eventually outed as a fraud. During some of the seances where she acted as the medium, sitters reported hearing the tinkling of bells coming from her direction when the 'paranormal' activity began. Eventually, she got sloppy and dropped one of those bells that were hidden up her sleeve, and the witness who picked it up and handed it to her said something along the lines of, "Here, you should be more careful with these." On the other hand, she did have some interesting ideas in terms of spiritual development, but it's highly questionable whether she actually communicated with discarnate entities. In terms of spirit conjuring being a sin? Well... that would depend on your choice of what to believe. Love is the Law, Love under Will, -Mal |

OK, I wasn't claiming Blavatsky was the real thing, but am I correct in remembering what she said? Does anyone know? (especially in the light of being a fraud herself?)

I hope it dies a horrible death soon! |

You guys are acting like a bunch of jealous punks. There I said it.
Are you totally missing the point? Magic/Mentalism has a PRIME TIME slot! Instead of celebrating that you are gripping and complaining and criticizing what you are not a part of. How juvenile. And for the record, "that girl" has a name - Angela. And not only does she have more natural talent in her pinky than anyone else on the Café' she is on PRIME TIME NATIONAL TV on what is esentially her first time out! Her success is something to celebrate, not crap on! Can we please find the good things in people instead of crushing them??? There. I said it. Ban me, flame me, but it is the truth. Sheesh. |
