For someone who is performing on a part time basis(for money), mainly interested in mentalism, which of the two books would be the most helpful and why? I have no aspirations to ever be a full time professional - happy with things as they are but would like to improve presentation for a better all round experience.

I would actually put Maximum Entertainment ahead of Stronger Magic for value on the subject of entertaining with magic.

Maximum Entertainment gives you a complete background on how to plan, rehearse, script, and stage an act. Win the Crowd is more of a book on enhancing your charisma, though the latter book covers some rehearsal and other techniques.
I would study and apply the foundation techniques from Maximum Entertainment first and then enhance them with what you learn in Win the Crowd. Curt |

My #1 recommendation would also be Maximum Entertainment for anyone who wants to perform.
