I’m not a scientist, but I’ve done my share of dual line kite flying.
Let’s just say that the sail on the center swing is much more inviting to that most hallowed of spirits known as … The Wind. You may call her a ghost. At times, I know I have. Steve |

This could also be similar to the multiple pendulum effect that some mentalists perform.

Steve,
I considered the wind but I didn't see any other evidence besides the swing and also why the middle swing only (the violent movement)? If the video is for real of course and untouched. I know the effect Phil with the bells, but it would take someone touching the swing frame would it not? Best Candini

The two outside swings move with it at first and then they separate when the middle one goes between them. They then become still as the middle one increases it's arc.
I wonder if some kind of (sub sonic)low frequency vibration is setting up a weird harmonic occillation that acts on the symmetry of the frame and therefore the middle swing (being at a balance/focal point or fulcrum)acts upon it and starts to "do it's thang"?

I don't believe the whole thing isn't just faked.
Look at the way that swing is moving - everytime it swings back, it leads from it's left side. It's being pulled by thread, attached nearer that side, and pulled a little harder each time. But it certainly doesn't move as though an invisible person is swinging in it. The motion, kinetics, and physics are all wrong for that. After all, this is "The Sun" y'know. I don't think TAPS will be going down there anytime soon to investigate.
Just hanging out with the rest of my fellow dregs.
