I know the head engineer working on Pleo. It's going to be (supposedly) as intelligent and more versatile than Sony's now discontinued AIBO series of robotic pets, but without it being $1200 to $2500 like Sony's various AIBO models.
Incidentally, the creator of Pleo is Caleb Chung, creator of Furby and a working mime from the 1970's -80's (has appeared on Alan Thicke's TV show as well as others and played an orangutan in the movie "Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan.) |

In the late 1970’s I had a friend
who became the life of a party, because he could do an impression of “a baby dinosaur”. Since no one was old enough to remember just what a baby dino sounded like, it was assumed his impersonation was accurate. Well, now there’s Pleo, and ***! He sounds just like my friend’s impression!!! So I guess they’ve got an accurate product. Now… The Question! What portent does Pleo have for Bizarre Magick, and Storytelling Magicians??? Magically, Walt |

No, can't paint him, ruins the "works" inside and his fur "skin" but you could give him a little black hat to wear...

Jurassic Park did them better. Pleo sounds like Yoda taking a dump.

I still have a furby. It's batteries have been removed and there's a knife embedded in the top of it's head. My daughter cried. It stinks being a kid sometimes.
Creating the Furby, that's strike one Being a mime, (probably) strike two Hmmmm, I don't see this one going out of the park. Raven

Oh I see it going out of the park...wandering out the park anyway, and being run over by a truck.

However if a bunch of them gang up on you, they might prove quite dangerous...

Well. could you "teach" him to walk over to a particular tarot card,
or is that just a plain waste of his and your talents (LOL) Walt |

Pleo looks a lot like the 1980s Littlefoot from the Land Before Time. I was under the impression you can't teach an old dinosaur new tricks. Instead of pulling a rabbit out of the hat you could pull out a Pleo. The hat could become a portal to the Jurassic period...
